How Great Thou Art is his ninth studio album, released in February 1967 in mono and stereo by RCA Victor. The recording sessions were the second of a series of recordings made at RCA Studio B in Nashville, Tennessee on May 25, 26, and 27. The album reached number 18 on the Top Pop Albums chart on May 28, 1966. It was certified Gold by the RIAA on February 16, 1968, Platinum and 2x Platinum on March 27, 1992, and 3x Platinum on October 13, 2010.
