Description
From the second Japan tour that came to Japan in 1974 amidst the huge hit of “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road”, the live performance at the Osaka Employees’ Pension Hall on February 3rd, the first day in Osaka, was a good performance at the time. Recorded with audience sound source from master cassette. First, the performance in Japan started on February 1st at the Nippon Budokan, but it turned out to be a turbulent beginning as the first day’s performance at the Budokan was canceled after just over an hour due to problems such as poor health. However, from the second day onwards, he regained his normal form and showed a great performance here in Osaka. The album begins with “Funeral For A Friend / Love Lies Bleeding,” which marks the opening of the album “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road,” followed by a series of classic songs such as “Your Song” and “Candle In The Wind.” “Hercules” from “Honky Chateau” is an exciting performance that lasts eight and a half minutes. The set includes 9 songs from “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road”, 3 songs from “Honky Chateau”, 2 songs from “Don’t SHOot Me I’m Only The Piano Player” out of 17 songs, and the rest will be released in Japan to commemorate Japan’s arrival. “Step Into X’mas” was released as a single in November. There’s also “Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me,” which Elton sings by introducing, “This is a new song that I’ve never played before, and it’s from my new album that’s coming out in July,” and of course, “Your Song.” Although it is not a complete album, it is a must-listen for fans who can listen to songs that were only performed at that time, and who remember their visit to Japan at that time.
