This release features a full 1 hour and 22 minute recording of the second show of the second day of U.K.’s 2026 Japan tour, which was billed as a revival of U.K., taken from a high-quality audience master released by the taper. U.K. had ended its activities after its 2015 reunion tour of Japan, and with the death of John Wetton in 2017, a reunion with the original members became impossible. Eddie himself also suspended his concert activities after 2018. After breaking his silence for eight years, he finally made a comeback, and his first stage performance was, of course, in Japan, where he has many fans. The Japan tour consisted of two shows a day for four days, for a total of eight shows, and this release completely reproduces the final Tokyo performance in ultra-clear soundboard-level quality. The highly anticipated setlist was a truly sublime one, almost perfectly recreating their two UK studio albums. From “The Four Men of the Nation,” they performed every song except “Thirty Years” and “Mental Medication,” interspersed with medleys, and from “Danger Money,” they played every song except “Nothing to Lose,” making it an irresistible treat for longtime fans. The support members for this performance were also incredibly strong, with Mark Bonilla, formerly of the Keith Emerson Band, in John Wetton’s position, Mike Kennely, the last guitarist in Frank Zappa’s band, on guitar, and Marco Minnemann, a multi-instrumentalist who has released numerous solo albums, bringing together seasoned veterans here in Japan. Furthermore, the setlist for this Japan tour varied slightly from day to day. Incidentally, on this particular day, they performed “Night After Night,” a song not included in the first show on the first day in Tokyo, near the end of the show. There was even a minor incident where the performance was temporarily interrupted due to equipment trouble, making this a limited-edition memorial item for fans who want to check out every single show.
