Description
This definitive edition includes the complete legendary live performance of E.S.T., who pursued a new jazz style that also had elements of classical music and rock, with Pat Metheny, Nils Rundgren, and an orchestra, as well as a rare live performance from 2007, the final period of E.S.T.’s life, one year before Svensson’s death. This special live performance, held on June 6, 2003 at Jazz Baltica, one of Germany’s traditional music festivals, was performed by guitarist Pat Metheny, who participated in the festival as part of his own project, and fellow Swedish trombonist/vocalist/composer Nils Rundgren (who will become the director of Jazz Baltica in 2012), along with the Schleswig-Holstein Chamber Orchestra, a regular orchestra at the festival. This special live performance has been carefully mastered by the label and is of the highest quality. This definitive 2-disc set has arrived, which includes a complete recording of over 1 hour and 40 minutes on a stereo soundboard, as well as an additional recording of a precious performance at the almost final time at the Marciac Festival in France on July 30, 2007, during the production of “Leucosite,” the band’s final album since the release of their 2006 album “Tuesday Wonderland” and the live performance “Live in Hamburg” in the same year. This recording was also carefully mastered by the label and recorded on a high-quality stereo soundboard over the course of 1 hour!
