Description
This unreleased live performance by Don Pullen Trio, a pianist popular for his melodious solos and beautiful tone, was recorded on August 26, 1990 at the Saalfelden Jazz Festival in Austria, on the finest stereo soundboard sound source. Following on from JAZZTIME JT-087, which recorded a live performance in London in 1992, this is another valuable performance featuring Carlos Santana’s wife, Cindy Blackman, who is a woman but has simple and powerful drumming, on drums. The performance focuses on songs from “Random Thoughts,” which had just been released by Blue Note at the time, and you can enjoy the blissful performance of the piano trio, including James Genus, the superb bassist who was also a member of the new Brecker Brothers and participated in “Random Thoughts,” and Cindy Blackman on drums, on the finest stereo soundboard sound source. 1. Warriors (17:50) 2. Random Thoughts (11:21) 3. African – American Youths / The Endangered Species (14:48) 4. Indio Gitano (25:49) Live at Jazzfestival Saalfelden, Saalfelden, Austria, August 26th 1990 Don Pullen – piano James Genus – bass Cindy Blackman – drums
