Description

From the 1984 “LAST IN LINE” tour, when DIO led by Ronnie James Dio was at the peak of the band’s momentum and power, the performance in Essen, Germany on October 29th is now available as an audience master with the highest sound quality! DIO, who has many memorable items and excellent recordings, has decided to release the famous recording that received high praise during the same year’s tour! Ronnie, who left BLACK SABBATH, risked everything and started DIO in 1983. They took advantage of the rising popularity of heavy metal at the time, and shocked their fans with their debut album, “HOLY DIVER”. But even more than the album, what was truly amazing was the live performance. Ronnie’s spirited singing and Vivian Campbell’s brilliant guitar amplified the goodness of the songs many times on stage, and made a strong impression on the band in the United States, England, and all over Europe. It was their 2nd album “LAST IN LINE” in 1984 that contained that momentum in their album. The band’s direction has been solidified, and as they have gained a sense of unity through the tour, the songs and performances have finally become more fulfilling. It sold well and became DIO’s masterpiece in both name and reality. The content of the live show, which was left only from the tour at the time when the band was at its most active, is amazing. In addition to the official video of Philadelphia’s “The Spectrum,” there are many collector’s items that have thrilled fans, whether they are soundboards or audience recordings. Among them, “HEAVY LINE” (Shades), which includes the performance in Essen, Germany, on October 29th during the European tour, has the ease and power of a performance that feels like a sound board, and the vividness and realism that can only be achieved by a quality audience recording. It has a sense of realism and surprised many Ronnie fans. Moreover, this sound source was unearthed just before Ronnie’s death in May 2010, so it even unexpectedly took on the color of a memorial title, leaving an even stronger impression on fans. Sound quality, performance, and historical significance. This time, we used the master of “HEAVY LINE” again, and after refining the sound, we made it into a CD! This is the first DIO collector’s item of the year, and I can safely say that it is one of the best! According to Taper’s explanation, this recording was recorded at a position “approximately 10 meters from the stage, slightly to the right of the center.” The overall musical tone has an outstanding sense of separation, and the sound image that pops out with an outstanding punch is truly a masterpiece! The high-grade sound is comparable to that of line recording, giving the impression that it was recorded by the person involved. The brightness and resolution, which were originally excellent, have also been improved by remastering (while also improving listenability, of course). From the opening “Stand Up And Shout” and “One Night In The City”, you can enjoy the invincible DIO live to your heart’s content with the unnecessary superlative sound such as “Do not record the audience seats of this era”! DIO’s set list combines the no-questions-asked masterpiece “Don’t Talk To Strangers,” the catchy “Mystery,” and “Egypt (The Chains Are On),” which takes advantage of Ronnie’s fantastic and magnificent character, and is the charm of DIO. A condensed version of The performance of the band, who have released two huge hits worldwide and are on a roll, is amazing! Furthermore, the continuous medley from “Holy Diver” to “Heaven And Hell” with a drum solo and “The Last In Line” is irresistible. The beauty of DIO’s medley is that it is played precisely.) In addition, in “Heaven And Hell (Reprise)” that follows Vivian’s guitar solo, there is a cut due to a tape change at the 58th second, but the second half of the show recorded after that (in other words, the B side of the cassette) contains more than the first half. Proud of its sound, it will finally draw the listener into the depths of DIO live! At the end of the show, the RAINBOW suite of “Rainbow In The Dark”, “Man On The Silver Mountain” and “Long Live Rock ‘n’ Roll” was released in succession. At the climax, which is full of famous songs, the eternal metal anthem “We Rock” and “The Mob Rules” are played fast and hard! The approximately 80-minute live performance will end with the venue turning into a melting pot of enthusiasm and excitement! This “LAST IN LINE” tour includes the above-mentioned official video of Philadelphia, as well as June’s “Pink Pop Festival” in the Netherlands, which is also included in the official deluxe edition, and the classic “DEFINITIVE SPOKANE”. and the Spokane performance on July 24th, a “battleground” filled with famous sound sources. This recording is comparable to those masterpieces even though it is an audience recording. Live at Grugahalle, Essen, Germany 29th October 1984 TRULY PERFECT SOUND(UPGRADE) (79:20) 1. Intro. 2.
