Description
A rare live item that can be said to be a memorial item for the late Ronnie is here. From the 2004 South American tour accompanying the release of “MASTER OF THE MOON”, which was the last work under the name of Dio, the performance in Santiago, Chile on August 24th was recorded in official quality and soundboard using local FM master. First, it was a live performance from the South American leg after the European tour that started in Russia in the same year, where the band combination was also at its best, and the following May, a performance in Japan was also held, and this tour was well received by fans for its high quality performance and set. First of all, the second song was Sabbath’s “Sign Of The Southern Cross”, which was not performed on the Japanese tour, and the third song was already a full performance of “Stargazer”. Then, in the drum solo that was performed following “Stand Up And Shout”, the “William Tell Overture” was used in the second half in Japan, but here it features the familiar “1812 Overture” by Cozy. Then “Don’t Talk To Strangers” and “The Eyes” followed, and “Man On The Silver Mountain” at the original speed was played in a version with Craig’s solo of nearly 6 minutes and “Long Live Rock ‘N’ Roll” inserted in the middle. Furthermore, “Rock ‘N’Roll Children” was a number that was not performed in Japan, and it was rare to select a song from the third album, and considering that the guitar is Craig, it was somewhat emotional. Then Dio called out, “From Long Live Rock ‘n’ Roll, we’re playing a song you’ve never heard live! Gates Of Babylon!” The riff started with a Middle Eastern phrase synth, and the part where Ronnie sang the melody loudly with his best voice was truly impressive. And “Holy Diver” started with a dramatic synth intro reminiscent of Magnum, then connected to “Heaven And Hell” in a medley to close the main set. The set ended with “The Last In Line,” also arranged faithfully to the original, and the big-hit “Neon Knights.” Although it was only one song from “MASTER OF THE MOON,” the set list, which included the masterpieces of Rainbow, Sabbath, and Dio, is undoubtedly a must-have item for fans. disc 1: 1.
