Description
We have a lineup of the masterpiece “Layla And Other Assorted Love Songs”, which was previously released by Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab! In 1987, the American company Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab (MFSL) borrowed a two-track stereo master tape from a major record company, and under a license agreement to produce a limited number of them, they applied the newly developed gold deposition technology. We took full advantage of this and started producing CDs. In addition to being produced from the original stereo master, it was a favorite among audiophiles in the 1990s because it accurately reproduced the sound as it was when the album was recorded. “Layla And Other Assorted Love Songs” was released in September 1993 as part of the “Ultradisc?” series. This differs more in stereo spread than anything else. Although previous CDs with the same title were stereo, they had a fairly narrow stereo feel, but this CD’s left and right channels extend to the full 180 degrees. And as for the sound, normally CDs emphasize the high and low ranges and the midrange is poor, giving the often said “thumpy” impression, but with this CD, all the ranges are well-balanced and harmonious. I get the impression that it is. Above all, the clearness of each instrument and the delicate sound of the vocals stands out. In other words, we can say that this is the result of a faithful digital conversion of the analog master. Of course, the master used for this disc is the original US version master tape used by Atco Records in the US in 1970 to produce this work. As enthusiasts may know, the original American master tapes of most of the artists were destroyed in the 2008 Universal fire, so “Layla And Other Assorted Love Songs” was released. , it is no longer possible to remaster the US master with higher sound quality than the main version. Even if I wanted to remaster it, I didn’t have the master tape. As for the splendor of the content of this work, everyone must be aware of it. Duane Allman, who would die in an unexpected accident the following year, met Clapton as if by fate, and it is a masterpiece of the century where Clapton and his sparkling guitar playing caused a chemical reaction in this band. MFSL’s masterpiece of the century, “Layla And Other Assorted Love Songs,” uses the original US stereo master, which has become a phantom, to reproduce faithful analog sound on CD.
