Description
We have a lineup of rare recordings by Eric Clapton. Although he was recording his follow-up to the masterpiece “Layla and Other Associated Love Songs” released as Derek & the Dominos, the band fell apart during the recording sessions due to a conflict between Clapton and drummer Jim Gordon, and the recordings were left unfinished. These are treasured recordings from the sessions for his second album. The recording took place at Olympic Sound Studios in London from April to May 1971, and the recordings included on this album are all instrumental, and are so-called “basic tracks” that do not even include guide vocals. Later, versions with overdubbed vocals were included on 3, 6, 7, and 8. in Clapton’s 4CD anthology box set “Crossroads” released in 1988. However, the master of this main board is a genuine leaked source that was handed over to a heavyweight taper living in the UK by a staff member of Polygram in the UK. Therefore, 5.6. are completely different takes from the official version. The number of the phantom second album that can be heard in all songs instrumental is also likely to appeal to maniacs. The bonus recorded on the master was the Tell The Truth Jam in the “Layla Sessions”, and the take itself is the same as the one that was first recorded on the official album “HISTORY OF ERIC CLAPTON”. The sound quality is very clear and trouble-free, as expected of a first generation leak. Between songs, you can hear a little conversation and voice of Clapton and a person who seems to be an engineer. This is something that you can’t hear in the official version. Clapton’s intense playing in the Dominos era is more intriguing because it is an instrumental. You can feel Clapton’s pity for never seeing the light of day, even though he was working hard to surpass “Layla” in these recordings. Here are nine pieces that fill in the puzzle of one period of Clapton’s career. Unreleased Master STEREO SBD (from Original Masters) (37:46) 1. Instrumental 1 (aka Sick At Heart) 2.
