Description

Introducing a live album that is a complete recording of the home country live during the “super” heyday with TESLA as the undercard! This work was recorded at “Leicester Performance on September 15, 1987”. This is the initial live performance and the 18th performance of “HYSTERIA TOUR 1987-1988” which started on June 24, 1987. However, even though it was the 18th performance, the album “HYSTERIA” was released on August 3rd, so less than two weeks have passed since its release. It was a show with perfect timing, with the band’s engine warming up just right, and the audience in their home country still getting excited about the new song, and who had just memorized the lyrics. The person who recorded such a delicious live performance was the famous master “Crazy S.”. When I play this work, I feel like, “Yeah, it’s pretty good for this era,” but that’s only until the first half of the second song, “Rock Rock (Till You Drop).” From then on, the sound suddenly improved and turned into a “What the hell is this?!” level. The musical tones become clear all at once, with a direct feel that sounds like a line recording. This feeling is just like seeing with new glasses. Up until then, I had been able to see without any problems, but as soon as I put on my glasses, the world became more transparent in every corner, and even the outlines stood out. It’s an auditory version of that feeling. Even in the Crazy S. collection, which is packed with great recordings, it is rare to find such a clear sound. Maybe he wasn’t sure about his position at the beginning, or maybe he was hiding the microphone from the security guard… Either way, it’s a terrifying and exhilarating moment. The early enthusiastic performance of “HYSTERIA TOUR 1987-1988” that was infused with that sound is also exceptional. After all, their average age at that time was 26.6 years old. Rick Allen is still a youthful 23 years old. Even though the initial stage of the tour is about to burn with passion, they are not only that in this work. The tragedy that befell Rick, the pressure of his previous work “PYROMANIA” which was a big hit, the long (at that time) four-year gap… Of course, the new work “HYSTERIA” and the 17 performances so far were enough, but there was still a lot left to prove. The performance of this work is filled with the spirit of repelling such concerns. This week, Phil Collen’s first day “MARQUEE 1983” and “YOKOHAMA 1988”, the latter half of “HYSTERIA TOUR 1987-1988”, will also appear. However, this work is filled with a passion that is different from the innocent explosion of 1983 and the Japanese performances that have already proven their revival around the world. This work is full of such heat, and the undercard TESLA is also included as a bonus. These guys have just hit #32 on the U.S. charts with their debut album “MECHANICAL RESONANCE” and have just begun their invasion of the UK to conquer the world. The set list is a selection of 9 songs from the 12 songs of “MECHANICAL RESONANCE”, which is exactly the “live version of MECHANICAL RESONANCE”. They would later become famous for their unplugged music, but here they rock electric and hot. You can fully enjoy the performance that shows young and innocent passion. TESLA’s sound at the beginning is not the best, but like DEF LEPPARD, from the middle of “Cover Queen” onwards, it transforms into an eye-opening, ultra-clear sound, and it runs right through to the end. America’s TESLA appeared with much fanfare and expressed their youthful ambitions against the British, and DEF LEPPARD showed themselves to their home country fans as having overcome hardships. Master artist “Crazy S.” captured the two most delicious moments, a season that will never return. Enjoy this masterpiece of a live album that combines ambition and passion with beautiful melodic hard rock!
