Description

DEF LEPPARD will be coming to Japan in October to perform the masterpiece “HYSTERIA”. This is the best live album of “HYSTERIA TOUR” that is perfect for those who can’t wait to come to Japan. DEF LEPPARD is not the only star of this work. The show of TESLA, who was their opening act, is also fully recorded. This is the best audience recording of the “September 17, 1987 Sheffield performance” where the two British and American heroes shared the stage. First of all, let’s check the position of the show on the tour schedule of the headliner DEF LEPPARD. [1987] June 24-28: Europe #1 (3 shows) August 3rd “HYSTERIA” released August 27th-September 17th: UK (17 shows) ←★here★ October 1st-December 31st: North America #1 (61 shows) [1988] January 16th-February 19th: North America #2 (25 shows) March 4th-April 22nd: Europe #2 (37 shows) May 17th-24th: Japan (5 shows) May 27th-October 27th: North America #3 (88 shows) This is the glorious “HYSTERIA TOUR 1987-1988”. This was the final stage of the tour of the home country that took place immediately after the release of the masterpiece “HYSTERIA”. This UK tour is also known as a treasure trove of masterpiece recordings. In our shop, masterpieces such as “SHEFFIELD 1987 1ST NIGHT” and “LEICESTER 1987” have become popular. In fact, this work is also a sister work of those masterpieces. Like the previous two works, it was made into a CD directly from the secret collection recorded by the master. “It will fall because it came out later,” you might think, but in fact, the opposite is true. Mr. “Crazy S.” is not the kind of person who is stingy, but the quality of this work is so exquisite that it is inevitable to think so. In total, there is a reality that is like an audience, so it is not mistaken for a sound board, but it is difficult to express it in words in detail. If you check each item, such as “response of the core,” “thickness of the bass,” “closeness of the distance,” and “fineness of the details,” it is no different from a sound board. There is a heavy core, and each instrument is delicate. If the bass is thick, there is almost no sense of distance. The subtle airiness is just like the 80’s DEF LEPPARD sound, and does not create any muddiness or muffledness. What’s even more surprising is the glossiness. In fact, the previous two works had a great sound, but there was a slight overpeak at the moment of fortissimo. However, this work does not have even that. Even if the bass drum roars powerfully or the power chords are strummed, there is no vibration or distortion. In the middle part of “Rock Of Ages”, there is a slight cloudiness, but it is also at the level of “Did the direction of the microphone change?”. In the next song, “Photograph”, the sound returns to a clear and sunny sound. Speaking of 1987, it was the heyday of Mr. “Crazy S.”, a prolific period of famous sound sources, but it is especially wonderful among them. The show depicted with such a shining sound is also dazzlingly in its prime. After all, DEF LEPPARD’s “HYSTERIA TOUR” is the pinnacle of its long history. The axis of “PYROMANIA” + “HYSTERIA” that continues to this day was completed, but it seems that at that time there were more “PYROMANIA” with a proven track record than “HYSTERIA” immediately after its release (8 out of the total 10 songs on the album were generous). Even more than that is the performance. The band’s youth of 26.6 years old on average exploded, creating a great album. The spirit of bouncing back from the four-year hiatus and the tragedy that struck Rick could be heard in the previous two albums, but this work is the final day of the UK tour where they have been even more experienced. The confidence that has excited their home country has sprung up, and there is a sense of fulfillment that makes you feel like you are enjoying the certainty of their comeback. In addition, TESLA, who was the opening act, was also great. Unfortunately, only the beginning of the first song “Comin’ Atcha Live” starts with a fade-in due to a recording error, but the sound is super clear, not inferior to the main DEF LEPPARD. They have just set out to conquer the world by sending their debut album to the US charts. This set is a condensed version of the 12 songs from “MECHANICAL RESONANCE”, and the show is as dense as a live performance of the masterpiece. DEF LEPPARD, who returned with the masterpiece “HYSTERIA” after a four-year hiatus, and TESLA, who made their mark on the world with “MECHANICAL RESONANCE”. Both are darlings who pioneered the era with catchy and melodic hard rock, and are eager to challenge the world. This live album depicts such a coupling tour with the finest sound in the “Crazy S.” collection. For those who have already experienced “SHEFFIELD 1987 1ST NIGHT” and “LEICESTER 1987”, it will give you an impression that exceeds both works, and for those who have not experienced it, it will give you a strong impact. This is a masterpiece that everyone who loves 80’s melodic hard rock should experience.
