Description

The legendary great album “THE END”, which contains the last night of the glorious second period DEEP PURPLE, is reprinted with the latest remaster. Yes, that legendary concert where Ian Gillan tweeted, “This is the last night…the end.” The final day of the second Japan tour was June 29, 1973 at the Osaka Welfare Pension Hall. The recording of this day has been known since the analog era, and over the years a number of previously released titles have competed for the classic position. “THE END” was the song that settled the dispute. It did not have the drawbacks of various previous releases (out of pitch or out of sound), and boasted a clear sound that was even said to be “like a sound board.” Furthermore, since the sound included in the master cassette has been reprinted without missing a single note, it includes the 5 minutes and 40 seconds of loud cheers and end-of-show announcements by the legendary MC. I’m sure many of you remember that this is a famous album that is nothing more than a “definitive edition” and caused a shock upon its release. This work is a remake of that famous album from the cassette master and finished with the latest remastering. The original release version was digitized with the natural sound of the cassette intact, but this time we wanted a complete piece of work. Having said that, of course we do not do any flashy equalization that would spoil the natural feel. Although the sound of the cassette master was powerful in the second half of the live performance (Disc 2), the first half (Disc 1) was a little less high-pitched compared to that, and there were parts where the channel was weak. Therefore, we made adjustments to make the entire live performance feel even, and changed the balance to dramatically raise the bass and treble. We made it so that you can listen to it all at once with just as much power as the second half. Normally, we should be promoting it as “Further upgrade! No need for the existing version!!”, but we are not saying that. It is true that this work is more complete as a “live album that you can enjoy listening to”, but that does not mean that the atmosphere breathed in by the cassette master himself that was included in the original “THE END” has been preserved to this day. The value of the sound has not wavered in the slightest. Quiet talk. The live performance recorded with an even more complete sound is extremely memorable. After all, all the performers are aware that “this is the last time”, so the live performance filled with spirit is full of the power of a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Richie played the guitar solo for “Highway Star” longer than usual, played a solo full of song in the intro of “Smoke On The Water”, Ian Paice responded flexibly, and “Zarathustra is In addition to the riff of “Sunshine Of Your Love” and “Happy Birthday (this day is Pace’s birthday)”, Jon Lord delivers a variety of phrases more than usual, and his “Space Truckin”’. ” Roger Glover belts out a ferocious bass solo. And of course it’s Gilan. From the opening song “Smoke On The Water,” he was so overcome with emotion that he couldn’t sing, and he let out a harsh scream as if to let out his blocked voice… There are some songs where the guitar solo becomes vague, so it’s by no means a perfect concert, but the awesomeness and danger of the performance are due to the fact that it was a very special night. The legendary last MC symbolizes a special night. The audience seemed to be thinking about the big riot at the Budokan, or not, as they screamed and screamed, demanding an encore for more than five minutes in an unusual atmosphere. Gilan stands alone in front of such fans. Here, he gives a speech that will go down in rock history with all his feelings. Let’s write out the entire text here. “All I want to say to…. all of you, is thank you very much, you’ve been great. Thank you for everything you’ve given us in Japan. And thank you, really you’re the representatives of the whole world as far as we’re concerned. Thank you and God bless you for everything you’ve ever given us. Um, this is the last night. The end. God bless ’em. Thanks a lot. Goodnight.” I want to say thank you to everyone. You guys are the best. We really appreciate everything that the Japanese fans have done for us. You guys really represent the fans all over the world. Thank you and God’s blessings for all the memories I made with my Japanese fans. Yes, tonight is the last time. Thank you very much. Goodbye.” There are countless last concerts in rock history. There are many records of this. However, most of them are not aware of their “last”. There were times when we had a falling out after a tour, conflicts over album production, and unexpected accidents. Under such circumstances, the performance of this work is definitely filled with the awareness that “Today is the last day.” Even if Gillan’s final words were not there, the music eloquently expresses his feelings. And, the person performing the live performance is none other than the second generation DEEP PURPLE, the founder and embodiment of classic hard rock. A live album that records the passionate performances and farewells in rock history with the finest sound. This is a grand resurgence of a recording of a great name that must be handed down forever.
