Description

From the 1985 Japan tour of the reunited DEEP PURPLE, 3 performances held in Osaka and Nagoya have been released as a 6-CD set. In addition to the new master of Osaka 2 Days, which will be appearing for the first time, this work, which is a package of the Nagoya performance that will be made into a long-awaited CD by fans, is DEEP PURPLE’ that ranks alongside “PERFECT GUNNERS” and “THRILL OF CHASE”, which include the Budokan performance. As a classic sound source that came to Japan in 1985, it will receive enthusiastic support from fans! DEEP PURPLE, which was reunited in 1984 for the second stage, will begin a major world tour starting with a performance in Perth, Australia on November 27, 1984. From January to April 1985, at the beginning of 1985, they held a three-month long US tour that was a huge success, and fans all over the world rejoiced at the “resurrection of the legend.” Their performance in Japan in May, which began in May, was naturally well-received by the fans. All seven performances were filled with wonderful performances and excitement, and the various sound sources left behind by fans convey the atmosphere to this day. Of these, the first performance in Japan was May 8th, and the second day, the Osaka Castle Hall performance on the 9th, was a two-performance set of “NANIWA IN ROCK” (Langley), and “DEEP” on the 8th. IMPACT” and “KILLING MACHINE” on the 9th, both of which are known for their superb recordings that are comparable to the performances. What is included in this work is a “third source” that is completely different from these previously released titles. The sources included in “DEEP IMPACT” and “KILLING MACHINE” were sound sources with the finest quality, but this work has a sound image rich in stability due to the same taper recording, and it is hard to believe that it was recorded on a cassette 26 years ago. With outstanding brightness and symmetry, two performances that are notable in PURPLE history are contained on each disc! (Incidentally, the recorders are Eric Clapton (series of high-quality recordings of Japanese performances, British Pride, etc.), Jeff Beck (Osaka (1980) (Moving Finger), Cyclone Box all, Karuizawa (1986)), Pink Floyd (1988) The tapered tape recorded the live performances of famous bands such as The Rolling Stones (Tokyo and Osaka in 1990), Mick Jagger (Tokyo and Nagoya in 1988), TOTO, and Genesis, with the highest sound quality ever recorded. For hard rock fans, it might be easier to say that he was the person who recorded Dio’s “Dragon Head” (Tokyo, 1986).) This album is also recorded with an exceptional sound for an audience recording of this era. ) The scenes from May 8th, the first day in Osaka, recorded on Discs 1 and 2, have a good atmosphere, but the sound is outstanding and separates like a line sound source, making it appear right before your eyes. The sound is amazing! Audiences in Osaka are known for their passionate nature, but in the original sound source, there are almost no elements that would interfere with the performance, such as shouting or talking, and the original sound source feels like a take collected for broadcasting. It will give the listener an illusion (you can clearly hear Guillain’s conga in the middle of “Child In Time”!). I even wonder how Taper was able to record like this 26 years ago (note that the beginnings of “Child In Time” and “Smoke On The Water” were missing, so “DEEP IMPACT” (compensated by the master). In some songs such as “Highway Star”, you can feel the electromagnetic noise caused by the PA that was occurring at the venue on the day (this is also the case with previous releases), but the quality of the performance was strong enough to blow away any PA troubles. Richie’s solos in new songs such as “Nobody’s Home”, “Under The Gun”, and “Knocking At Your Back Door” are so wonderful that I can’t even describe them in words! In 1985, Gillan also gave performances that made you feel the power of his real voice on songs like “Child In Time” and “Space Truckin’.” In the instrumental part of the second half of “Space Truckin'”, you can enjoy the spectacular play performed by John, Ritchie, Roger and Pace with the highest freshness and vividness! The only encore on this day is “Smoke On The Water”, but the quality of the sound and the greatness of the performance will make you forget even that, and it is an exceptional 94 minutes! The second day in Osaka, May 9th, recorded on Discs 3 and 4, is a live performance that was one of the best performances in Japan, which is said to be the last day of Budokan. Like the previous day’s source, the sound condition of this sound source is maintained with great freshness and will make all listeners aware of the power of master quality! In the sound sources released in the past, the texture unique to tape and the moderately rounded sound gave a unique warmth. This work takes advantage of these analog qualities, but by applying a sharp remastering that brings out the high tones, it features a sound that even young fans can easily get into. The sounds that give you a sense of clarity and sharpness, such as the opening songs “Highway Star” and “Strange Kind Of Woman,” are exquisite. The historic show will be reproduced with clarity and visibility that far exceeds previous performances, and with an extremely realistic feeling that reflects the size of the venue.Even enthusiasts who have listened to various sound sources from that day will be able to enjoy the performance with a fresh feeling. You can do it. This is their second performance in Japan, and the band is solid and performs a series of performances that will overwhelm the listeners at every turn! The listener will be amazed by the performance, such as the call and response of “Strange Kind Of Woman” where danger and stability are side by side, the raging “Under The Gun”, and “Perfect Strangers” which condenses the flavor of the 5th period formation. I can’t take my ears off it for even a second. PURPLE fans will be grateful to Taper for being able to listen to the middle part “Lazy”, Pace’s drum solo, and the overwhelming “Child In Time” with such vividness and power (in addition, “Under The Gun” In addition to the last 20 seconds, there were some gaps between songs due to the master, so we compensated with the source of the previously released “KILLING MACHINE”). The performance time was short the day before due to PA trouble, but on this day “Woman From Tokyo” and “Black Night” were added to the encore. The 2-hour live performance, which is much longer than the previous day, will give the listeners a 120% sense of satisfaction! One day after the Osaka performance, which was held in the heat of magma, the stage will move to Nagoya. The May 11th performance at the Nagoya City International Exhibition Center has been requested to be made into a CD since the masterpiece “REUNION IN NAGOYA” was released. This time, in response to the eagerness of our fans, we have completely remastered this “REUNION IN NAGOYA” from the master tape stage and made it into a CD. The remaster, which is in line with the sound quality of Osaka 2 Days, brings out each member’s performance with a clearer outline, and the overall performance can be enjoyed with a clean sound image that feels like it has been smartly shaped up. The clearness of the sound, which has definitely improved several levels, suddenly feels so different that it is hard to believe that the main sound source is the same master as “REUNION IN NAGOYA”. From veterans to beginners, this sound source is sure to keep the 100 minutes of the live performance a series of surprises! Gillan is in good condition on this day, and in “Nobody’s Home”, “A Gypsy’s Kiss” and “Under The Gun” you can listen to the powerful vocals like the GILLAN era. John’s Hammond also resonates in the venue with a rich sound, and their greatness seems to be claiming that “Ritchie is not the only place to listen to PURPLE!” Of course, there was no way that Richie would remain silent, and in addition to “Child In Time” and “Difficult To Cure”, in other scenes where his guitar was featured, the sound was bouncy and wonderful, with a smooth, slow and sharp tone. He will put on an excellent play. In the encore, following “Woman From Tokyo”, an impromptu “The Yellow Rose Of Texas” was played at the beginning of “Black Night”, which became a major point of the day (around 2:36 of “Black Night”, It’s also funny to see the scene where Gilan forgets the lyrics and calls out “Black Night!~” four times in a row to fool himself.) Unfortunately, “Smoke On The Water” will not be picked up and the live will end, and the end of the performance announcement will be played. This sound source is also characterized by the fact that this outro is recorded for almost 2 minutes, allowing the listener to cool down and soak in the afterglow of the live performance. With Osaka 2 Days looking back from a different angle than the previous sound source, and the long-awaited remastered CD version of the Nagoya performance, this work will allow all PURPLE fans to fully relive the first half of their 1985 Japan performance. Probably. If you’re a PURPLE fan, it’s hard to imagine not being satisfied with this! With consistently high sound quality and supreme performance that everyone recognizes, I would not hesitate to say that any of the three sound sources included in this work are first-class products. This work, which will go down as a masterpiece, will bring even more brilliance to your collection. Don’t miss out on this 3-performance, over 300-minute spectacle that will surprise you with the sound, groan with the performance, and be hypnotizing at the end!
