Description

DEEP PURPLE’s first visit to Japan, a major event in the history of Japanese Western music that took place 50 years ago. The 50th anniversary edition, the highest peak in history, is now available, where you can experience the “three miraculous days” that were the stage for the historic masterpiece “MADE IN JAPAN”. The three miraculous days are, of course, the “August 15th/16th, 1972: Osaka Festival Hall” performance and the “August 17th: Nippon Budokan” performance. This is a 6-disc set that includes full audience recordings of each. [Carefully selected from all existing masters] Speaking of “MADE IN JAPAN”, it is not only DEEP PURPLE’s masterpiece, but also the masterpiece of rock music… no, even the masterpiece of the work form called “live album”. As it is such a crucial work, various items have appeared, both official and unofficial, but the best of them is the audience recording of that time. You will be bathed in the great performance that is said to be a miracle at 100% live, and share the roar and shock with the customers at the scene. It was a completely different experience from official works and soundboards. Our shop archives such audience recordings under various titles. From traditional masters known for a long time, to newly excavated masters of other systems, to completely different recordings, etc. Some legendary titles have been out of print for a long time, and some current titles are well received every day. Among them, this work will appear on the occasion of the never-ending “50th anniversary”. All existing audience recordings are reevaluated flatly once. After carefully selecting the true best masters, they are polished with the meticulous mastering of “GRAF ZEPPELIN”, and all three performances are permanently preserved as “the conclusion of 50 years”. So which master was the best? Let’s check it out here. August 15th: Osaka Festival Hall (first day) → “OSAKA 1972 1ST NIGHT” August 16th: Osaka Festival Hall (second day) → “LIVE IN JAPAN COMPLETE (old version DISC 3-4)” August 17th: Nippon Budokan → “LOUDER THAN EVERYTHING ELSE” … and the results were as follows. Some people may say, “Eh? XX sounds better, right?” and recommend a different title. In fact, this work does not use the above title as it is. The “best” was selected after going back to the original master and remastering. In other words, the sound ranking is determined not by the original or the already released, but by the “final form”. If it has been polished up and become a big hit, it is the champion. [Meticulous mastering by GRAF ZEPPELIN] And the mastering is also an important point of this work. Recently, GRAF ZEPPELIN has been remaking the famous recordings of various bands, and the finish of this work is also truly amazing. The method is not to create poor sound pressure, but to be natural, placing the highest priority on “reproducing the sound on site”. Not to mention the pitch, the phase shift is corrected with a precision that does not allow even 1/1000th of a second of deviation, and the wow and flutter are also adjusted. Furthermore, the balance is adjusted by band analysis, and the noise of each band is carefully removed. The key to the noise removal is to stop just short of changing the performance sound itself, and while it is beautifully brushed up, it never strays from the realm of “reproducing the sound on site”. The high precision is proven by the sound. There are so many tasks that it is impossible to talk about them all, but if I had to give one example, I would say “Child In Time”. It is especially easy to understand on the first day in Osaka (8/15), but the original sound was shaking with wow and flutter, and the organ sounded in the quiet parts was distorted. This work is so stable that the fluctuation is almost unnoticeable. Another example of band balance would be the Budokan (8/17). The thin bass is strengthened, but simply emphasizing the bass can cause overpeaking, and if it gets too loud, it will be pointless. So in this work, the entire range is lowered once so that it does not collapse, and then the bass is strengthened. The original dynamism of the performance is reproduced exactly while remaining glossy and beautiful. The live performance that was revived in this way is truly “three days of miracles”. Although it was only three days, it has overcome the trials of time of half a century and continues to burn the souls of enthusiasts. Each phrase that has already been engraved at the soul level is vividly and vividly depicted. Yes, what is engraved in this work is exactly “the weight of 50 years”. The sound sources that have survived to the present day are because many enthusiasts and countless collectors have continued to pursue them. It is a six-disc set that has been polished by archiving technology that has been constantly improving for 50 years. The “sound of 1972” has been passed down because it has been loved, and has been recaptured in the present day. This is a full audience recording set of 6 discs that includes the complete recording of the legendary first visit to Japan for three days, “August 15th + 16th, 1972: Osaka Festival Hall / August 17th: Nippon Budokan”. This is an upgraded version that carefully selects the best quality from all the masters we have handled so far and polishes them up with meticulous mastering by “GRAF ZEPPELIN”. From pitch/phase correction, processing of wow and flutter and various noises, to balance adjustment by band analysis, the finish is faithful to the basics while being polished with unprecedented precision, making it the best in history. This is the 50th anniversary version that is the crystallization of the passion of collectors and technological advances over half a century.
