Description
DEEP PURPLE in 1973, rushing towards the end of the golden age. The longest and highest peak version of the standard sound source is born. A CD polished by the meticulous mastering of “GRAF ZEPPELIN” is now available. This work is engraved with “Genoa performance on March 11, 1973”. It is a masterpiece audience recording. Speaking of 1973, it is a historical turning point that transitioned from Phase II to Phase III. First, let’s take a bird’s-eye view of the activity and check the position of the show. {January 13th: Release of “Portrait of Purple”} January 16th-March 20th: Europe (36 performances) ←★Here★ April 12th-June 19th: North America (42 performances) June 23rd-29th: Japan (6 performances: Collapse of Phase II) {September: Start of Phase III → November: Completion of “Purple Flame”} December 9th-17th: Europe #3 (5 performances) This is DEEP PURPLE in 1973. The release of “Portrait of Purple” kicked off the first half of the year, with the members of Phase II on a world tour (Europe/North America/Japan). In the second half, Phase III created “Purple Flame”, and the only live performance was “Europe #3”, which was for show-off purposes. In the midst of all this, the Genoa performance of this work was the “European” leg, which was the beginning of the end. It was the 30th concert. This is an important period in Purple’s history, and our store has archived this “European” leg with many masterpieces. It’s a good opportunity, so let’s organize the collection here. Details of the European leg: January 16th “BERLIN 1973” January 17th-20th (3 performances) January 21st “MUNICH 1973” January 23rd “MUNSTER MASTER” January 24th-February 10th (10 performances) February 16th “RAINBOW 1973” February 19th + 20th (2 performances) February 21st “BIRMINGHAM 1973 MASTER February 23rd-March 10th (8 performances) March 11th: Genoa performance ←★ This work March 14th-19th (5 performances) March 20th “BRUSSELS 1973” … and so on. The above is only the current masterpiece, not the entire record. Among the seven live albums, this work is the second record after the final day “BRUSSELS 1973”. It was a timing that could be said to be “the end of the beginning of the end”. This work, which vacuum-packed such a show, has been known for having a famous recording from before, and our shop has loved “GENOVA 1973” on the Shades label as a standard. This work is also a standard sound source, but it is the decisive board that updates the longest and highest peak. “GRAF ZEPPELIN” meticulously mastered the excavation of a former master who was younger than the Shades version. First of all, the “longest update” is a cut compensation due to tape change. In the past, there was a cut of about 50 seconds between the drum solos, but in this work, it is patched with a different sound source. It is the first live album in history that can be enjoyed seamlessly. And more importantly, it is “updating the highest peak sound”. In fact, what flows from this work is in a different dimension from the Shades version. Of course, the recording itself is the same, so the feeling is a little wild, but the freshness is clearly fresher and younger. In fact, “GENOVA 1973” was also released as the 1st generation, so that means that the master this time is the original transfer, or that it was copied with higher accuracy in a different system and was well preserved… In any case, the youthful sound that cannot be produced by mastering is wonderful. Each and every sound of every instrument has been clearly and clearly reborn, and the instruments are beautifully separated without mixing with each other. The direct feeling has increased as if the recording position itself was a few meters forward. Everything is different, but the most obvious thing is the bass. If you have already experienced it, you will remember the unique “Bing Bing!” attack sound, but this is no longer just an attack. The rich sound leaves a “Gori” feeling immediately after the “Bin”, and the combination of these creates an indescribable groove. Moreover, because the outline is so clear, even if the guitar or keyboard sounds at the same time, they do not mix. In particular, “Smoke On The Water” is a must-listen. The bass is just one example, but this song is a bass song with a super-unique bass that completely matches the organ/guitar. GRAF ZEPPELIN has further polished this best master. If you have read this article, you may already know that GRAF ZEPPELIN’s method is what you might call “natural reproductionism.” They do not make flashy or unnecessary sound pressure, but restore the “original sound” like repairing a painting or cultural property. Pitch correction, phase correction, band analysis, balance adjustment, noise processing… each one is done from the perspective of “restoration,” reproducing the live scene itself as much as possible. In this case, the hiss reduction is remarkable. The new master itself had less hiss than the previous version, but it has been processed even more beautifully. Of course, it is a stop that does not affect the sound of the performance, and while it is natural, it realizes a smoother and more lustrous sound. This is the longest and highest peak update of the treasure recording that allows you to experience the delicious full show of “Mary Long” that you could not hear in Japan. Although it was past its peak, it is the “II period of the 70’s”. The rarity and power are on a different level from any other era, and even if it is different from “MADE IN JAPAN”, it is undoubtedly the strongest hard rock band of the present generation. One of the best albums ever produced by young gene masters and meticulous mastering. A masterpiece audience recording of the “Genoa performance on March 11, 1973”. “GRAF ZEPPELIN” meticulously mastered the new master of young gene more than the Shades label’s existing release. This is the decisive board that updates the longest and highest peak. The freshness is clearly fresh, and each sound of every instrument is clearly reborn, and the instruments are beautifully separated without mixing with each other. The direct feeling is increased as if the recording position itself was a few meters forward. “Mary Long”, which could not be heard in Japan, is also a treasure Alham that allows you to experience a delicious full show on site. (Remaster Memo) Using a different low-generation master, the sound quality exceeds that of the previous one even at this point. The roughness of the hiss has been reduced and the freshness has been greatly improved. The cut part (drum solo) has been supplemented with another source that has appeared in recent years, realizing the first complete recording in history!
