This full-length recording of the February 26th Helsinki, Finland performance from the 1972 Euro tour immediately preceding the release of “Machine Head” is available from a master recording with a good audience quality for the time. Despite their hectic touring schedule, the band delivered a truly explosive performance, as evidenced by their “Live in Japan” performance six months later. This Helsinki performance is also a rare live performance, even before the release of “Machine Head.” While “Highway Star” had already become the band’s opening song, for some reason, this night opened with “Speed ​​King.” Incidentally, there was a similar opening date about a month prior, but the song has never been used as an opening song since. While the reasons for this are unclear, this recording marks the final live performance to feature “Speed ​​King” as an opening track.
