Description
Purple’s fourth world tour in 1975, which began after the release of “COME TASTE THE BAND” by Tommy Bolin, was completed on November 25th and 26th in Melbourne, Australia, before arriving in Japan. Both performances are from the New Zealand and Australia tour, which consisted of nine performances, before arriving in Japan the following December. Both performances have been digitally remastered from the master copy, and are recorded in the best quality available at present. As for the live performance on the 25th, the first day in Melbourne, the performance was out of sync in the first half of “Burn” and the sound was a bit noisy due to the PA, but after “Lady Luck” the sound and performance were somehow stable, and Tommy, who was in poor form during the Japan tour, showed his full potential in Oceania before his injury. Furthermore, on the second day, the 26th, although the sound quality was inferior to the previous day, Coverdale was in good shape again that day, and John’s lyrical organ solo was also wonderful, and the fusion-like “Lazy” unique to this fourth period and Pace’s solo that exceeds 7 minutes are also great listening points. And the band showed a hot play in unison in the encore “Highway Star”, and unlike the US tour the following year where some songs were cut, you can enjoy the stage with a full set, a must-have item for fans.
