Description
This famous recording was released in 1986 in Baden-Baden, Germany, where a live open session was held in a studio with an audience for broadcasting purposes, and the soundboard recording was remastered to remove as much noise as possible. The opening song is “Port Town Serenade,” which is popular among fans for its dynamic rhythm and flood of emotion, and is included in the album “As We Speak” (Japanese title: Whispering Silhouette), which reached number one on the Billboard jazz album chart in 1982. After that, the famous songs Chicago Song and Straight to the Heart are played one after another, which is a real goosebumps for fans. The middle part of the live performance is full of highlights, including Hiram Bullock’s guitar solo. Please also note that Hiram’s partner Steve Logan is on bass, and Ricky Peterson, a masterful keyboardist who later became a sound creator, is backing him up. And at the end is a cool live version of “Anything You Want,” which was included on the album “Hideawie” and was the song that everyone listened to on cassette tape while driving at the time. It’s a masterpiece that Sanborn fans will listen to for the rest of their lives.
