Description

“ABOUT FACE TOUR” was David Gilmour’s first solo tour. A valuable live album recording the full show will be released. This work includes “June 21, 1984: Universal City Performance”. This is the audience recording. Some of you may be thinking, “Huh?” Yes, it is a show at the same venue and the day before of the famous Kinney’s original cassette masterpiece “UNIVERSAL CITY 1984 2ND NIGHT” which will be released this week. What’s more, this “the day before” is also a key point, and the heart behind this lies in Roger Waters. As I mentioned in the press commentary, let’s look back at Gilmore and Roger’s 1984 schedule here.・DG: March 31st – May 1st: Europe (22 performances) ・DG: May 9th – June 15th: North America (30 performances) ・DG&RW: June 16th – July 6th: ( DG North America 13 shows/RW Europe 9 shows) ←★Coco★・DG: July 8th-16th: North America (7 shows)・RW: July 17th-31st: North America (10 shows) *Note: DG” is Gilmore’s “ABOUT FACE TOUR” and “RW” is Roger’s “THE PROS AND CONS OF HITCH HIKING TOUR” schedule. This is 1984 for these two. This year, both of them released solo albums and were conducting their first solo tour at about the same time. And their schedules overlapped for only three weeks. We have also introduced Roger’s famous recording “EARLS COURT 1984 1ST NIGHT”, and the recording date of this Roger record is “June 21, 1984”. In other words, for Gilmore’s “UNIVERSAL CITY 1984 2ND NIGHT”, this work is a daily work, and for Roger’s “EARLS COURT 1984 1ST NIGHT”, it is a live album that will be a confrontation board on the same day. This work recorded such a show, and the sound is quite wonderful. Of course, it is impossible to match the super clear sound of Kinney Master’s “2ND NIGHT”, but this work is also not average. The most amazing thing is the strong and sturdy core. Everything from extended highs to deep bass is clear, and the response is so great that you can even feel the mass. Unfortunately, the sound is a little rough due to the freshness of the master. That’s because the partner is a super beautiful recording by the prestigious Kinney, and this work is also above average, and the thickness and closeness of the core, and the direct feel of a soundboard may actually be superior to this work. yeah. In addition to that sound, I’m glad that it includes a panoramic view of the show. The pro shots and soundboards of this tour are very short. You can fully experience it with a very thick sound like a sound board. In the explanation of “2ND NIGHT”, we have organized the set by comparing it with the official video, but here we will compare it with another famous sound source, the FM sound board of the Allentown performance. ●PINK FLOYD (3 songs)・Madness: Money・The Wall: Run Like Hell/Comfortably Numb ●Solo (12 songs)・DAVID GILMOUR: Mihalis (★)/Short And Sweet・ABOUT FACE: Until We Sleep/All Lovers Are Deranged/Love On The Air/Cruise(★)/Out Of The Blue(★)/Let’s Get Metaphysical(★)/You Know I’m Right/Blue Light/Murder(★)/Near The End(★)※ Note: Songs marked with a “★” cannot be heard on the FM soundboard at the Allentown performance. …and it looks like this. There are six songs in the repertoire that cannot be heard on the FM sound source, and the difference in volume is obvious. The best part to listen to is the solo number unique to this tour, but don’t miss the PINK FLOYD number. What I would like you to pay particular attention to is “Money”. Actually, this is the only song that overlaps with Roger’s “THE PROS AND CONS OF HITCH HIKING TOUR”. Yes, this work’s “Money” is the Gilmore version played on the same day as “EARLS COURT 1984 1ST NIGHT”. It is possible to compare the worlds of the two people through famous songs performed with an eight-hour time difference. “ABOUT FACE TOUR” is a blessing just to be able to listen to the full recording. “2ND NIGHT” is Kinney’s world first appearance master, so it has been permanently preserved without any questions asked, but this work is also a masterpiece that fully represents the tour.
