Description

The legendary concert on July 3, 1973, at the final performance of the “Ziggy Stardust” tour at Hammersmith Odeon in London, where Ziggy Stardust announced his sudden retirement, was officially released in the 1980s as “Ziggy Stardust: The Motion Picture,” but as you know, it was incomplete due to studio editing and overdubbing from the beginning. Later, a cassette master directly connected to the soundboard by the late Robin Mayhew, who was the sound engineer for this show, was leaked, and the full picture of the concert on that day was revealed, including the pre-concert announcement, Mike Garson’s piano medley, the intermission, and the collaboration with Jeff Beck, which remains sealed. However, although this sound source is an unedited and naked recording of the legendary concert, it was also incomplete due to some degradation due to tape, skipping, and pitch adjustment. This time, the sound source has been re-edited using the latest digital restoration work. The narrow mono sound source has been converted to stereo using the latest demix technology, and the incomplete parts have been meticulously restored, so this sound source, which has been familiar to collectors until now, has been reborn with the latest upgrade. DVD1 contains the widescreen HD remastered footage of the theatrical release of “Ziggy Stardust: The Motion Picture.” The official DVD was edited in a 4:3 screen with a dark, difficult-to-see image, but the 16:9 widescreen HD remastered footage has clearer details and is the best available today with the power of a wide screen. DVD2 contains the TV broadcast version, which has long been officially sealed, including the collaboration with Jeff Beck. This TV broadcast version was not originally rebroadcast and was later released on video, so the video quality is not good and it is a video conversion video, but the faded, dark footage has been digitally restored and the poor video sound has been replaced with a stereo remastered sound source and re-edited. You can also see the precious historical collaboration scene with Jeff Beck in improved sound quality. The extra video includes additional 1973 TV footage, such as Ziggy’s valuable documentary BBC TV footage from 1973, as well as unearthed footage from the BBC’s “Jean Genie” and “Saturday at the Drive-In.” Following the 50th Anniversary Collector’s Edition of “Ziggy Stardust”, this is the latest collector’s edition from S&V! The original mono master sound source of the 1973 Hammersmith performance is completely reproduced with stereo remaster sound source by the latest digital restoration work. The legendary live performance including the officially unreleased opening and the sealed collaboration with Jeff Beck is completely recorded with the latest remaster. The widescreen HD remastered video for theaters is made into a DVD. The original edited version broadcast on TV in the 1970s is completely reproduced and recorded in a digitally restored edited version with video restoration and stereo remastered sound source. In addition, TV related footage from 1973 is also included. 2CD : COMPLETE STEREO REMASTER 2022 VERSION 2DVD : ZIGGY STARDUST THE MOTION PICTURE – WIDE SCREEN HD REMASTER / REVISED AND STEREO REMASTER TV VERSION AND EXTRA VIDEO CD1 ZIGGY STARDUST THE LAST SHOW : COMPLETE STEREO REMASTER 2022 VERSION 1.
