Description
From the very beginning of the “ZIGGY STARDUST TOUR”, a new excavation master has appeared. This work contains the “May 6, 1972 Kingston performance”. It is a legendary show that has long been known and was once said to be “Bowie’s oldest audience recording”. However, this work is not a copy or remastered reissue of such an already released show. It is a recently unearthed low gene master. It is a valuable live album that allows you to experience “Bowie transforming into Ziggy” with a sound that is completely different from all previously released sounds. The sound is the key, but before that, how early is this work? Let’s check it from the tour outline of 1972. [1972] ・January 29th-March 24th: UK #1 (18 performances) ・April 20th-May 27th: UK #2 (15 performances) ←★Here★ ・June 2nd-July 15th: UK #3 (18 performances) ・August 19th-September 7th: UK #4 (12 performances) ・September 22nd-December 2nd: North America (26 performances) ・December 23rd-29th: UK #5 (4 performances) The above is only the “1972 portion” of the legendary tour “ZIGGY STARDUST TOUR 1972-1973”. The UK tour is also divided into detailed categories, but this is in line with the member changes. In “1973”, the group will be large, but in “1972” it has a simple composition of “basic four people + keyboard”. However, even in “1972”, the keyboard player changed in detail. “UK #1” was a four-person formation without a keyboard, “UK #2” was the first Matthew Fisher, “UK #3” was Robin Lumley, “UK #4” was Nicky Graham, and from “North America” to the end of the 1973 tour it was Mike Garson. Among these, the Kingston performance of this work is the sixth performance of “UK #2” (the 24th performance overall). Since “1972”, our shop has delivered masterpiece press albums such as “LIVE SANTA MONICA ’72: UK ADVANCE/PROMOTIONAL CD”, “BOSTON 1972” and “CLEVELAND 1972 1ST NIGHT”, but they are all “North America”. I think you can understand how early this work is. Such a Kingston performance was once known as “the only record of the very early ZIGGY STARDUST TOUR”, but this work updates its peak. Until now, Trial label’s “ZIGGY AT KINGSTON” has been the king, but this work has a better sound quality than the previous one. There is no intro disorder, which was a fate, but that is just proof of the new excavation. The most important thing is the sound that runs through the whole album. Even “ZIGGY AT KINGSTON” was a masterpiece that was said to have “amazingly high sound quality,” “sound quality that is incomparable to the previous release,” and “recorded from a sound source that is quite close to the master” by specialist magazines when it was released, but this work is much younger than Gene, and the freshness of the performance and singing voice is completely different. In fact, this excavation has caused a stir among enthusiasts all over the world. It is the very center of the topic right now, but this work has also been mastered with the latest and meticulous mastering. The small high notes have been brought out and the overall balance has been adjusted. It has been arranged to have a clearer and more three-dimensional sound. And the very early “ZIGGY STARDUST TOUR” revived with such a newly excavated sound is wonderful. A lot of numbers from “HUNKY DORY” were played in the early days, but that’s not all. They also played covers such as Jacques Brel’s “Amsterdam” and CREAM’s “I Feel Free” and “Song For Bob Dylan”. These numbers are extremely rare numbers that were said to be up to “UK #3”. The best part is the cover of the great James Brown “I Gotta Get A Job”. It seems that Bowie only sang it once or twice, and of course the only place you can actually hear it is at this Kingston performance. You can enjoy the ultimate rare singing voice with the highest sound in history. Not only is it a very rare set, but it is also a live album with a dazzling singing voice that has not yet become “Ziggy”. It is an amazing new excavation master that updates the highest peak in history. The rare charisma did not dominate Bowie’s whole body overnight. Bowie “transformed” with each performance. This is an extremely valuable piece to know the process. Live at Kingston Polytechnic, Kingston, Surrey, UK 6th May 1972 ★UPGRADE (78:11) 01. Intro 02. Hang On To Yourself 03. Ziggy Stardust 04.
