Description

A treasured live album featuring the “Berlin era” Japan performances is now available. This work includes the second Japan tour five years after the legendary first visit to Japan. This is the “LOW AND HEROES JAPAN TOUR” performance “December 9, 1978: Osaka Expo Memorial Hall”. In our shop, we have reported on the 1978 Japan performance with several live items, including the sound board and pro shot “TOKYO 1978”. Let’s organize it simply here. ・December 5: Nagoya City Public Hall ・December 6: Osaka Welfare Pension Hall ・December 7: Osaka Welfare Pension Hall ・December 9: Osaka Expo Memorial Hall [This work] ・December 11: Nippon Budokan “BUDOKAN 1978” ・December 12: NHK Hall “TOKYO 1978” “BLACKOUT” *Only representative works on each day. All 6 performances. We have delivered audience albums such as “TOKYO 1978” based on a certain public broadcasting station, as well as “BUDOKAN 1978” and “BLACKOUT”, all of which were Tokyo performances. This work is an audience recording of the Osaka performance that preceded it. This work is a famous recording that has long been known to core collectors. However, it has not yet been titled, and specialist magazines have always pointed out that “although it is an audience recording, the sound quality is quite good” and “I want to wait for it to be bootlegged”. Why was it not made public, even though it was such an excellent recording? That is because the “best master” could not be determined. Even if we know its existence, there is a wide range of Janet circulating between trades, so we cannot declare that “this is the best”, and we cannot provide something half-baked… It is a recording that has been plagued by that dilemma. This work is the decisive board that ends that dilemma. Our shop is always supervised by a world authority in Bowie research, and the researcher confidently provided us with the master, saying “This is the best”. In addition, the latest and meticulous mastering was also carried out in this work. The pitch (especially the latter half) that was out of whack in the trade master was accurately aligned, and the sound nuances that changed here and there were smoothly adjusted. While retaining the fun of the handmade feeling that the original had, the finish was as easy to listen to as possible. In fact, the sound of this work is a truly wonderful vintage audience. It is not a type that can be compared to line recording, but its vivid and fresh freshness is outstanding. While absorbing the conversations and laughter of the audience in real life, the strongest musical tones and singing voices reach you straight ahead. The breathing of this audience is also very good. Even though it is the voice of a young female customer, it is not the crazy cry of an idol-like later, but is firmly focused on the music. And yet, the “Kyaa!” and “Amazing” that occur in an instant seem to show even Bowie’s every move. In addition, the laughter that occurs here and there… I can’t help but wonder what is happening on the scene! Even during the band member introduction, Adrian Belew received a special round of applause, and one can see the honest surprise of his virtuosity. There is a vivid yet nostalgic breath of “the keen Western music fans of the 70s”. And it is the “Bowie of the Berlin era” that spreads in this atmosphere that is wonderful. As the tour title “LOW AND HEROES TOUR 1978” suggests, the first half (Disc 1) features the masterpieces “LOW” and “HEROES”, while the second half (Disc 2) features six consecutive “Ziggy Stardust” songs, creating a vivid contrast. Unfortunately, the recording ended in the middle of “Stay”, so the final song “Rebel Rebel” is missing, but 90% of the show is recorded. You can also enjoy “Jean Gene” and “Suffragette City”, which were cut from the official expanded version “STAGE”, as if they were on-site. “1978 Osaka Expo Memorial Hall”, which has been secretly enjoyed only by core collectors for about 40 years. This is the highest version. It is a masterpiece filled with 100% of the real Bowie, who was not just a “popular person in the living room” but a “rock hero”. His dignified, mysterious, and cutting-edge world. Live at Banpaku Kinen Hall, Osaka, Japan 9th December 1978 TRULY AMAZING SOUND Disc 1 (49:52) 1. Intro. 2. Warszawa 3. Heroes 4.
