Description

The “ISOLAR – 1976 TOUR” opened a new era with the masterpiece “STATION TO STATION”. This is the best live album representing the era when “The Thin White Duke” fascinated the world as a new character. This work contains the “February 28, 1976 Cleveland performance”. Speaking of “ISOLAR – 1976 TOUR”, we have also delivered the best sound board “ROTTERDAM 1976”, but that was the final stage of the tour, whereas this work is the beginning of the tour. First of all, as always, let’s imagine the whole tour. ・February 2-March 26: North America (40 performances) ←★Here★《About 2 weeks later》・April 7-17: Europe #1 (8 performances)《1 week later》・April 24-May 18: Europe #2 (16 performances) “ROTTERDAM 1976” That was a total of 64 performances in North America and Europe. “ROTTERDAM 1976” is the fourth performance from the end, but this work’s Cleveland performance is the 19th concert. The record of this show has been known for a long time, and has produced masterpieces such as “NEO EXPRESSIONISM”. This work is also the same recording, but of course it is not a copy that has already been released. At our shop, we have always excavated a number of the best masters under the supervision of a world authority in Bowie research. Until now, we have mainly sent sound boards, but this time we were provided with a master quality version of the audience. In fact, this master is amazing. It is a famous recording that has represented the tour for many years, but this work is fresh and clear. Although it is a type that should be called “just like a sound board”, it is so intense that it is difficult to call it that lightly. The details reach clearly and straight, and the extremely thick and thick musical sound is just like a sound board. Moreover, the reality that resides in the clarity is completely different from a bland line recording. Not only Bowie’s singing voice, but each and every note of each instrument is vivid, so vivid that you can almost follow its contours with your fingertips. Carlos Alomar, who rides on Dennis Davis & George Murray, draws a pulsating sense of dynamism, and Stacey Hayden’s lead can even be felt to be creaking. The feeling of being “in front of you” is exactly master quality. I wonder if such a master existed… or rather, it is hard to believe that this is really an audience recording from the 1970s. As expected from a world-renowned researcher. His selection and insight are at a different level. Although it was such a top-of-the-line master, it was not the ultimate. As can be said for the previous groups that have already been released, the pitch was slightly out of sync, and the sound pressure varied depending on the song. So, as a final push, this work was completely polished with the latest and meticulous mastering. Of course, we did not make any unrefined imitation that would change the beautiful sound that shines too much. The pitch and sound pressure were adjusted to normal, and the bass that was partially too loud was adjusted. Each of these was very minor, but the entire album was carefully and thoroughly examined and fine-tuned. It was carefully and thoroughly finished. This historical recording, which has become the ultimate quality, is the truth of the “ISOLAR – 1976 TOUR”. What’s best of all is that you can enjoy the full show with 100% live on-site sound. Of course, the soundboard version “ROTTERDAM 1976” was the “longest version” that far exceeded the previous release, but “Queen Bitch”, which had not yet been recorded, was not included. In contrast, this work is a complete recording without question. Moreover, this work is more than just a full set. The deluxe edition of the official “STATION TO STATION” also included a live album from the Nassau Coliseum, but it also included 14 minutes of the pre-show “Un Chien Andalou”, which you cannot hear on that album, and you can also hear the BGM at the end of the show (albeit a little). The biggest impact is the three redoes of “TVC15”. At first, the performance begins after “Queen Bitch”, but Bowie immediately interrupts. Switch to “Life On Mars?”. Connect it to “Five Years” as a medley and start “TVC15” again. Here too, Bowie stops playing for some reason and changes to “Panic in Detroit”. In the end, it is only at the end of the main story that they finally play the full version. Is it Bowie’s whim or the band’s misunderstanding? The cause is clear from this work alone, but if you look into history, the reason becomes clear. In concerts before this day, “TVC15” was in the middle, but it was fixed at the end after this day. Perhaps Bowie was looking for a position that he was satisfied with… It is also a valuable record that captures the moment of such a change. Bowie in 1976, who called himself “The Thin White Duke” and was searching for a new worldview. This is the best recording and the best version of the best master. A live album that gives you the ultimate experience of the entire “ISOLAR – 1976 TOUR” at 100% authentic quality. Live at Public Auditorium, Cleveland, OH.
