Description
The legendary recording, “October 1, 1972 Boston performance,” was highly praised as “the ultimate record in Bowie’s history.” It is a famous recording that represents the “ZIGGY STARDUST TOUR” that shines brilliantly in rock history, but this legend is now available in a complete version. This show has been released in pieces even officially. “My Death” was included in “RAREST ONE BOWIE,” “John, I’m Only Dancing,” “Changes,” and “The Supermen” were included in “SOUND + VISION,” and “Life on Mars?” was included in the 30th anniversary edition of “ALADDIN SANE.” The glimpses of the wonderful performance only made me want to hear the full version. The one who quenched my thirst was the historic recording artist Joe Maloney. He was running tape at this show and recorded it with the best sound. The pattern was also reported in our shop as “ZIGGY IN BOSTON.” The historic show depicted with that beautiful sound has enthusiasts all over the world in a frenzy. Even in the specialist magazines of the time, “The quality of this sound is outstanding, and it is quite high among all of Bowie’s bootlegs,” “You can enjoy the atmosphere of a magnificent live performance,” and “No matter where you cut it, it is the ultimate item that allows you to enjoy Bowie’s Ziggy period more than anything else.” This work is also such a “legendary Maloney recording,” but it is not a remaster that has already been released. Its true identity is the “original master itself” that has finally been released. The master that appeared from the same route as the shocking work “CLEVELAND 1972 1ST NIGHT” that was very well received the other day is titled “UNPROCESSED STEREO MASTER” and is a complete edition that is shaking the whole world. Above all, the recording time is completely different. “ZIGGY IN BOSTON” was “78:56”, which was the limit that could fit on one CD, but this work is significantly expanded. It is 11 and a half minutes longer. When I played it, a sound I had never heard before suddenly started to flow. The previous release started with the fade-out of the intro of “Hang Onto Yourself”, and I thought, “As expected, they started recording from the first song”, but in fact the tape had been running for a long time. It was recorded from the low-pitched synth of “Ode To Joy” that announces the start of the show. Another big difference is the encore. The tape is changed while waiting, and the applause that was cut in the previous release is also recorded for a long time, and “Ode To Joy” at the end of the show is also recorded. Until now, someone somewhere cut it because they wanted to put it on one CD, but here the shock of the audience who witnessed the rare charisma “Ziggy” is recorded exactly as it is. The atmosphere and air of the historic venue blows out as it is from the speakers. Of course, the essential concert itself is the real sound because it is “UNPROCESSED”. It was legendary from the previous release, but the original master sound is beautifully drawn. However, this work was also mastered as the final touch. It seems that I will be scolded for “not messing with the original sound!”, but of course I did not do anything unrefined to change the original sound. Rather, the opposite. I restored the very slight “changes” that probably occurred when the original master was digitized. I carefully removed the minute analog playback noise one by one, adjusted the imbalance of the left and right channels, and corrected the pitch, which was about 25% faster, to match the show’s actual location. Rather than forcing the power out of the sound, I focused only on reproducing “the sound that the recorder absorbed on site,” and finished it as a work that masters the highest peak. The “legendary night” revived with that sound… It’s so wonderful that I hesitate to talk about it in detail. A magnificent set list that even featured the precious “Lady Stardust”, an ensemble with the oily SPIDERS, the legendary singing of “My Death”, the overwhelming “The Width Of A Circle” that can be said to be a symbol of 1972… and the breath of the audience witnessing it. Everything that existed in “1972”, which could only be “1972”, flows out of the speakers with a sound unique to the original master, filling the room. It is truly a “cultural heritage”. It is a treasure of humanity. “CLEVELAND 1972 1ST NIGHT” was also a shocking masterpiece, but the awesomeness of the “complete form” that is more than 11 minutes longer than the previous release is indescribable. The famous recording that was even called “ultimate” exceeded the “ultimate”. Live at Boston Music Hall, Boston, MA. USA 1st October 1972 PERFECT SOUND(UPGRADED) Disc 1 (45:08) 1. Ode To Joy 2.
