Description

“JUNGLE BURNING BRIGHT” was created from the original cassette that was given directly by the recording artist himself on the 5th day of the Japan performance of “SERIOUS MOONLIGHT TOUR 1983”. This work was recorded on “October 25, 1983 at Yokohama Stadium”. First, let’s take a look at the schedule again to give you an idea of the positional relationship. ・October 20th, 21st, 22nd, 24th: Nippon Budokan ・October 25th: Yokohama Stadium [This work] ・October 26th: Osaka Prefectural Gymnasium ・October 27th: Osaka Prefectural Gymnasium ・October 29th: Nagoya International Exhibition Center / October 30th: Osaka Expo Memorial Stadium / October 31st: Kyoto Prefectural Gymnasium “KYOTO 1983” As you can see, this work was held immediately after the Nippon Budokan 4 Days. It was a live show, and it was right in the middle of the entire Japan tour. Since this tour was at its peak of popularity, all performances have been recorded in high-quality recordings, but the only exception was this Yokohama Stadium. Even the masters that were distributed among traders did not include “Station To Station”, and it was said that it was “not done in Yokohama”. This work completely changed that situation. When it appeared in 2006, it included “Station To Station”, which had been the norm until now, and it was clearly seen that it progressed without any interval between Parts 1 and 2. After all, the repeaters who were on the taper side were clearly recorded saying things like, “You didn’t say you were going to take a 15-minute break,” and “There’s no break!”. Of course, that kind of conversation is not during the performance, but between songs. Because it is in Japanese, the atmosphere of the time is conveyed in an uncannily realistic way. Of course, facts and dialogue between songs alone are not enough to shock you. The very clear musical tone is what made this work called a shocking work. From the beginning, I was surprised, “Oh, the sound remained good!”, but as the show progresses, it gets better and better. Although I wouldn’t say it’s like a soundboard, its clear musical tone allows you to grasp the details and subtleties of each instrument, making it the best sound of the day. Bowie and his band completely remembered the feeling of the Japanese audience who returned for the first time in five years during the four days at Budokan, and are excited to reach a new fan base. Of course, the opening Japanese MC “Good evening, everyone. This is our first performance in Japan in 5 years. DAVID BOWIE AND HIS BAND!” is also perfectly recorded. With clear sound and the weight of a full recording, this shocking masterpiece overturns even established theories. What’s more, this is a documentary album that even captures the breathing of repeat fans at the time in an ultra-realistic way. “1983 Field Experience Board”. It seems that Bowie of this year was looking forward to his last stay in Kyoto, but this work is also the last live album in Kanto before heading to that place. Please enjoy the truth of “Bowie at the height of his popularity” with another masterpiece recording.
