Description

The live album containing the 1996 special performance on a stereo soundboard is back as a gift title. This work was recorded at the 10th “BRIDGE SCHOOL BENEFIT” hosted by Neil Young over two days, “October 19th and 20th, 1996.” It was a trio consisting of Bowie (vocals and acoustic guitar), Reeves Gabrels (guitar), and Gail Ann Dorsey (bass). This work is a complete recording of such a special performance using Master Direct’s ultra-high quality stereo soundboard recording. It is a live album that was once released regularly and received great acclaim. The performance, drawn with the vivid musical tones of a perfect sound board, is extremely clear down to every single note, as it is a simple ensemble of a trio. Bowie’s singing voice is so close that you can almost hear his breathing, as if the live performance was happening inside your head. You can fully enjoy the direct connection that goes beyond the “sound in your ears”. The video of this performance is also famous, but the line recording heard there and the sound of the main disc are on a completely different level. “The sound is twice as good” is exactly the exquisite quality that Master Direct can achieve. The two-day live show with such a sound will be centered around five songs: “Aladdin Sane,” “The Jean Genie,” “I Can’t Read,” “The Man Who Sold The World,” and “Heroes,” with daily bonus songs. Sandwiching configuration. The biggest highlight is Bowie’s relaxed expression, which is different from his usual live performance. On the first day’s “I’m A Hog For You”, Gail is a big hit with Bowie who suddenly starts singing, and it is also interesting to mischievously hum THE WHO’s “Anyway Anyhow Anywhere”. Even on the second day, he suddenly started singing “You and I and George” by himself, and the private atmosphere was really fun. When such a simple and friendly performance is depicted on a stereo sound board where the cheers are far away, you can feel the closeness as if you were in a rehearsal room or your living room. Also, listen to the innovative arrangement unique to the trio composition, which mainly uses Bowie’s acoustic guitar. The intro of “Heroes” is almost a different song, and “China Girl” and “Let’s Dance” are also fresh. Even more surprising is the scene where Reeves recreates the avant-garde piano solo of “Aladdin Sane” on his guitar. If you just listen to the sound, it only sounds like a piano, but this is actually a guitar performance. Although they are friendly, the enthusiasm and effort put into each song is truly professional. It is a mysterious show where both sides of Bowie are naturally harmonious. A special performance that brings out Bowie’s true face, completely different from the usual band. This is a book that depicts it with the finest stereo sound board. A unique live album that combines a private mood and ultra-high sound quality. Please try this opportunity to see a side of him that you have never seen before in Japan.
