Description
The longest version of the live performance on September 5th, the final day of the six-performance series at the London club “TOWN & COUNTRY” that also served as a promotion for the release of “Change Of Season” in 1990, is now available. Only a 56-minute, 9-song broadcast recording of this live performance existed, but in recent years, a long version with 19 songs and a maximum sound quality of 1 hour and 42 minutes has been released. This is a remastered recording of that upper version. The sound quality is top class and it is perfect enough to be released as an official live performance as it is. Hall & Oates were the main act at “KIRIN GIGS ’90” held in Tokyo, Yokohama, and Osaka in July of the same year, but the backing members are the same as they were then. Hall & Oates’ high-quality stage, which captivated the audience with a set that effectively arranged new and old songs, was the best on this day as well. The sixth song was Starting All Over Again, with the MC saying “A song from the new work “Change Of Season” to be released in a few weeks.” “Everytime You Go Away” is played with the MC saying “It’s a song that Paul Young made a hit a few years ago, but I wrote it.” “Next is a new single,” he says, and plays So Close. After that, he plays familiar numbers to liven up the show towards the second half. In the second half, at the beginning of You Make My Dreams Come True, he says “Today I’m recording at (BBC) Radio 1.” The last is a cover performance of Sly & Family Stone’s Hot Fun In The Summertime and Marvin Gaye’s What’s Going On. It is likely that the original master of the broadcasting station has now leaked out, but it is unfortunate that only about 30 seconds of Wait For Me are recorded, whether it is a problem with the original or it was cut off at the copy stage. Instead, as a bonus track, a complete take of Wait For Me and four songs including One On One, which were not performed at the London performance, are added from the familiar Atlantic City performance on November 9th of the following year. It has been finished as an ironclad one. The tracks have been adjusted to remove noise, cuts, and even rough transitions so that they can all be heard smoothly.
