Description

This is a soundboard sound source of a jazz project led by Danny Gatton, a genius guitarist who is little known to the world. Many cover songs are played, such as the jazz classic “A Night in Tunisia,” but the favorite among them is Horace Silver’s soul jazz masterpiece “Song for My Father.” Danny’s guitar, which breaks through the theme and explodes into a driving rhythm, is a groove reminiscent of Cornell Dupree. Even if you don’t know much about Danny Gatton, please give this a listen as the sound quality is good. Recorded Live at Pickin’ Parlor, Nashville, TN, July 07, 1978 DISC 1 (set 1) 1. SUNNYMOON FOR TWO 2. NIGHT IN TUNISIA 3. LIL’ DARLIN’ 4. SONG FOR MY FATHER 5. C JAM BLUES DISC 2 (set 2) 1. KILLER JOE 2. BROADWAY 3. HERE’S THAT RAINY DAY 4. unknown 5. DEEP PURPLE 6.
