It goes without saying that D’Angelo’s masterpiece Voodoo is a wonderful album, but in fact, it was the tour that presented neo-soul and neo-funkness that could not be expressed on the album. A relatively early live performance of that Voodoo tour is recorded on a sound board! The Voodoo tour is faithful to the album in the early stages, but it gradually evolves and includes more jam elements, and each performance has many elements to explore, but these early live shows are tight yet involve the audience. We’re starting to see some unique twists and turns, and we have a very interesting chemistry.
