Description

A rare recording of a London performance from the 1981 UK tour following the release of “The Black Album” has arrived, recorded in excellent stereo audience quality. This rare recording features a live performance at Hammersmith Palace in London on March 3, 1981, from the European tour that followed the release of their renowned fourth album, “The Black Album.” Recorded from the Low Gene master, the vocals and each part are well-balanced, resulting in a wide, well-recorded stereo recording. The pitch, which was significantly out of sync on the master recording, has been carefully corrected. Only the ending of “Neat Neat Neat” is missing due to a tape change, but the rest is completely recorded. This killer album is packed with highlights, including four tracks from The Black Album, including “Hit Or Miss,” which was also included on the Christmas single released last November, and the US-exclusive single “Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde.” It also includes “I Just Can’t Be Happy Today,” which was included on their previous album, Machine Gun Etiquette, a sped-up version of their early classic “Neat Neat Neat” with an inserted drum solo, and a cover of the MC5’s “Looking At You,” which was included as a B-side on the Christmas single.
