Description

Debuting as the Jazz Crusaders in 1961, the band changed their name to “The Crusaders” in 1971 and released a string of classic albums, increasing their popularity. This live performance at London’s Hammersmith Odeon (now the Hammersmith Apollo) was a promotional performance for their 1979 album “Street Life.” This masterpiece has been restored and released in the highest quality possible. While the BBC broadcast had an abnormally high treble boost, resulting in a harsh, scratchy sound, this recording presents a more natural sound image, closer to the “Street Life” album. Live At Hammersmith Odeon, London, UK 1980 1. The Husler 2. Rainbow Seeker 3. Sweet Gentle Love 4. It Happenes Every Day 5. Carmel 6. Way Back Home 7. Street Life / Band Introduction (inc) Joe Sample (keyb) Wilton Felder (ts) Stix Hooper(dr) Barry Finnerty(g) Roy Gaines(g) Keith Jones(b) Randy Crawford(voc, track 7)
