Description

The first performance on October 24th, from the three consecutive days of performances at Madison Square Garden in New York in the fall of 2005, is recorded in its entirety in a master version with exceptional sound quality. This masterpiece sound source was released at the end of 2005 and was highly praised by fans and media as the “definitive version of the first day of MSG’s performance”. This sound source was circulated on the Internet at an early stage, and due to its high sound quality, several titles based on it were released. In contrast, this title was made from the master of the original recorder, and by comparing it with the previously released version, you can see the difference in sound quality that is rare in the digital age. (It is by no means a difference in remastering, etc.). Compared to this version, the previously released version feels deteriorated as if it had passed through an analog tape once. It can definitely be said to be the representative sound source of Cream’s MSG performance in 2005. Perhaps because it was the first day of the show, the enthusiastic reactions of the fans who had been waiting for Cream were recorded very realistically for each song, and you can experience the wonderful excitement of each song, including the wonderful performance of the three. After the N.S.U. performance, Jack Bruce told the audience, “Fantastic, amazing, beautiful,” and continued, “I’m happy to be able to play in front of the world’s best audience,” and the audience responded with loud cheers. As with the London performance, the three performed a solid but passionate performance, and the whole show was a perfect listen. At the New York performance, Tales of Brave Ulysses, which was not performed in London, was added, delighting the fans. During the intro to White Room, Ginger accidentally started hitting Toad’s drums, and when Ginger noticed, he stopped playing. Clapton said, “That was Ginger’s solo,” as a stopgap MC. Such accidents were also unique to the first day that White Room was played. Cream’s reunion concert, which will never be realized again due to Jack’s death, premiered at MSG in 2005. The audience’s welcome and excitement in the hall was incredible, and listening to it again in 2014 will surely give you a different feeling of emotion than ever before. The Cream reunion concert was realized at the request of Clapton, who was concerned about Jack’s condition after a liver transplant. Jack sometimes leaned back in his chair while playing, but when you listen to this album, you can hear that his biting vocals and bass playing from his heyday are still alive and well. Please remember the great bassist with this album. Live at Madison Square Garden, New York, USA 24th October 2005 Disc 1 1. I’m So Glad 2. Spoonful 3. Outside Woman Blues 4.
