The ninth release from Rare Records! Cream’s 3rd album, WHEELS OF FIRE, released in 1968, has been released on CD directly from the original mono vinyl of UK Polydor. The first vinyl with matrix 1 stamped on the front and back is used. It was previously released on CDR, but this time it has been remastered and released on CD. A mono cartridge is used for playback, faithfully reproducing the thick sound of the analog record, which is centered and has a strong impact, and the clear yet thick sound image. This direct feeling, punch, sound pressure, solid sound, and vividness cannot be experienced on current CDs. Only the needle cracks have been carefully removed with pinpoint precision. This is not the same as the old processing that muffles the sound to make the needle cracks inaudible, but rather the pinpoint removal done manually at the 1/10000th of a second level, so there is no sense of incongruity due to the noise removal. In addition, no coloring such as EQ processing or sound pressure processing such as compression has been applied, so you can experience a wide dynamic range sound that is faithful to the original recording. This product is produced with an emphasis on documentation and respect for the original sound of the valuable analog record. Therefore, no simple noise reduction processing such as covering the entire record with a membrane, no equalization processing that changes the tone, no editing processing of the silent parts between songs (such as pinching the silent parts between songs to hide scratch noise), and no compressor processing that emphasizes the dynamic range and increases the sound pressure and eliminates intonation. Therefore, compared to modern CDs with flashy compression processing in recent years, the sound may sound a little quieter, but you can experience a wide dynamic range sound.
