Description
A rare recording of the second Clash’s performance in Minnesota in May 1984, a five-member band, has been released! Following Topper, the Clash lost Mick Jones and was reduced to Joe and Paul, and three new members were added, including Pete Howard, who also played drums at the 1983 US Festival, to form the new Clash, a five-member band. On May 15th, about eight months after the US Festival, in the middle of the “Out of Control Tour” that started in California in January 1984, a rare recording of a live performance at the Civic Center, an indoor arena with a capacity of about 16,000 people located in St. Paul, Minnesota, has been released! Although it is mono, the vocals and chorus are clear, the balance of each part is very good, and the texture is like listening to a line recording on an AM radio, and it is recorded with good sound quality that is rough but easy to listen to. Also, there is another source from this day that is missing “Ammunition”, but this work uses a source with no missing parts, a long recording time, and good sound quality. It is recorded from the opening MC by Cosmo Vinyl, and the studio work in which you can hear the crash of these five people is the infamous “CUT THE CRAP” that even Joe regrets for its sound that uses a lot of programming and synths, but it makes you realize that there were many excellent songs that could be played purely by the band, such as “Are You Ready For War?”, “Three Card Trick”, “The Dictator”, and the new song “Ammunition” at the time that was not included in “CUT THE CRAP”. Don’t miss “Junco Partner” and “Broadway” from “Sandinista!”, which were not played much at live shows during this period!
