Description
In 1988, from the UK tour accompanying the second album “Long Cold Winter”, both performances in Leicester on November 17th and Nottingham on November 22nd were recorded by Crazy S., and the master tapes, which were not available among traders at all, were used directly to record these high quality performances. Following the first album, which was commercially successful and featured hard rock and roll, the second album “Long Cold Winter” released in 1988 was a more intense expression of Tom’s blues taste. Although it did not become as big a hit as the first, the quality of the album was very high, and the set, which was dominated by only the first and second numbers unique to this period, was a perfect listen from start to finish. Both performances were recorded with great sound, but the Nottingham Rock City performance in particular was captured with the highest level of superb sound quality for an audience recording at the time. The opening started with the moody Bad Seamstress Blues and the hard Fallin’ Apart At the Seams, just like the album. From the third song, Somebody Save Me, In From The Outside, Night Songs, Push, Push, and four songs from the first album are played in a row. After that, at the Leicester performance, you can listen to the wonderful cover of Johnny Winter cover Rock Me Baby and Led Zeppelin cover Bring It On Home in a medley. Conversely, at the Nottingham performance, you can listen to the famous ballad Don’t Know What You Got (Till It’s Gone). From the new work only for this tour, the hard Second Wind (featuring Fred Corey’s drum solo), the heavy blues number Long Cold Winter, and The Last Mile were also played only at the Nottingham performance, and each one is a listening point. Also includes the single Gypsy Road and the Stones cover Jumping Jack Flash. The definitive edition representing this period with superb content and sound quality!
