ChickCorea & the Vigil/Spain 2013

The 2013 Pro Shot Live video has arrived. This is the stage at the jazz festival held in Polideportivo, Spain on July 20th. They came to Japan in September, but this was a live show about two months before that. The bassist is Christian McBride, and he is a little different from the members who came to Japan. As Chick himself calls it, “a unit that shatters preconceived notions,” the performance is very fresh and cutting-edge. He seamlessly transitions from acoustic to electric, and completely ignores the distinction between jazz and fusion. A very fresh sound world is expanding into a new realm for chicks. Personally, I felt that the drums and percussion played a wonderful role. The recording time is 70 minutes with menu chapter specifications.
