Until now, the tour accompanying this “Ballad of the Fallen” had only performed live in 1982, but this time, the members changed significantly from 1982, and Seventh performed in Manhattan, New York on November 28, 1983.・A rare live performance at Avenue South has appeared for the first time with the highest quality sound that has been carefully mastered by the label! ! The only main members at this performance that are the same as in 1982 are Paul Motian and Dewey Redman, who were also in the American Quartet with Keith Jarrett (they recently performed live under the name American Quartet, led by Hayden). He is a talented piano and keyboard player that even Carla Bley recognizes, and in addition to playing the keyboard, he is also a vocalist and composer/arranger, and played an important role in Liberation Music Orchestra’s third album “Dream Keeper” released in 1990. The participation of Amina Claudine Meyers, who will play the role of the director, is attracting attention. In addition, a gorgeous lineup of talented players includes Bill Frisell on guitar, Baikida Carroll and Cecil Bridgewater, who later joined Hayden’s American Quartet, on trumpet, Jim Pepper on tenor, and Craig Harris on trombone. Faces gathered. Led by Hayden, the leader who creates the overall flow with his distinctive warm tones and simple lyrical melodies, both in the background and solo, a total of 12 members create a lyrical, grand, and elegant orchestration, and the wonderful members. You will be able to listen to the highly free improvisational performance! The performance consists of two parts in the form of a medley, including the title song, which has a beautiful yet ephemeral melody full of sadness and is one of the best songs on the album “Ballads of the Fallen”. It is no exaggeration to say that you can enjoy valuable live music! Even so, it’s a really wonderful performance that really makes you feel the message of Hayden’s heartfelt wish for peace for people all over the world through these extremely sad songs!
