Description
Introducing a rare collection of titles from a label that was extremely popular with fans, focusing on genres such as jazz and blues, for which there were almost no collector’s items at the time. A live performance held in Buenos Aires on June 3, 1977, the last year of Mingus’s career, is remastered from a broadcast master and official quality soundboard. They mainly play songs from the famous late album “Changes”, and the drummer is their returning ally Danny Richmond. Although he was separated from Mingus for a while, they started working together again a few years ago. Mingus said before his death, “Richmond not only accurately supports the rhythm, but also plays with creativity,” and as expected, the rhythm section is perfect. In particular, “For Henry Carney”, which is dedicated to the jazz giant Henry Carney from the closing album “Changes 2”, is a dramatic masterpiece that was often played in the 70’s and begins with a minor bass riff.
