Description

Lloyd Quartet with Keith and Jack DeJohnette in 1966, a very rare New York performance and two live shows broadcast on TV in the Netherlands (broadcast in 1967), and Lloyd Quartet with Petrucciani and Pare Danielson. Introducing a definitive edition that packs three live shows from the 1982 Paris performance, all recorded on the highest quality soundboard, into two CDs! ! Lloyd Quartet’s live performance in 1966 with Cecil McBee, of which there are surprisingly few sound sources, and the spring New York performance, which is a rare American sound source, and the 1966 lineup of McBee, Keith Jarrett, and Jack DeJohnette. Lloyd, who had been completely revived like a phoenix by Petrucciani, will appear in two live shows recorded in Europe in the same year, both of which were recorded for more than 30 minutes on the label’s own carefully mastered high-quality soundboard. On October 25, 1982, only three months had passed since the first recording of Petrucciani’s triumphant return performance in Paris, Petrucciani’s hometown, this was also recorded on an extremely high-quality soundboard that had been carefully mastered by the label. Completely recorded over an hour and a half at the venue, the early days of the still-active great tenor Charles Lloyd, immediately after his great revival, the youthful Keith Jarrett, Jack DeJohnette, and the genius Michel Petrucciani. Immediately after their major debut, a must-listen edition packed with 2 CDs packed with great things to listen to has arrived! ! The 1966 live performance was truly another “Forest Flower”, with a ferocious performance by a quartet that quickly exploded in popularity, with just the right amount of flower movement and psychedelic scent at the time. You can listen to it. With only the drums as intense as the young DeJohnette’s Elvin Jones in the background, Lloyd, who was said to be post-Coltrane, explodes with powerful blows, and Keith scratches the piano like crazy, just like the late Keith. There are long improvisations that are very fresh, such as swingy plays that would be unimaginable, and blues numbers that are a remnant of Lloyd’s activities as an R&B player, such as co-starring with B.B. King and others at the time of his debut. These two live shows are a must-see, as you can clearly feel the strong spirit of Wakashishi and his friends, “We’ll do it!” ! The live show in 1982 was all great, with Boss Lloyd’s strong tenor and tasteful flute, the master Danielson’s exquisite bass, and Sunship’s tight, stable rhythm throughout, but I still couldn’t help but listen to it. is Petrucciani’s piano. Petrucciani turned to jazz with Evans as his idol, but he originally studied classical music extensively, and when listening to his performances, he often compares himself to Evans and Keith Jarrett, although he incorporates classical elements as well. While he still comes down to being a jazz pianist, Petrucciani has a more classical approach to pianism. This is a major difference between him and other pianists, and he is said to be the most highly rated jazz pianist among fans of classical music. However, the true quality of Petrucciani’s performance is that it never drifts away from the sweetness of lyricism such as flowing, splendid, or beautiful. In Petrucciani’s original numbers, he plays the piano with a bright, passionate, and powerful touch that reflects Petrucciani’s positive personality. The technique for defeating him is overwhelmingly overwhelming, with an overwhelmingly powerful play in which he plays the piano with such forceful keystrokes that you would think it would break the piano without giving you the slightest hint of a handicap if you just listen to the sound! The early days of Lloyd, a master tenor who has produced many great talents such as Keith Jarrett, Michelle Petrucciani, Brad Mehldau, and Jason Moran, and who is still active today, met the incredibly talented Keith and suddenly achieved a breakthrough. This is a must-listen album for piano fans that captures three live performances in extremely high sound quality from the peak period of Petrucciani, another genius pianist who was most trusted and highly regarded! !
