Carla Bley Trio/Germany 2002

In April 2002, a two-disc live set of Carla Bley’s performance in Munich, Germany with her trio, recorded in official high-quality sound, has been released. The members are Steve Swallow on bass and Andy Shepherd on saxophone, and the composition is the same as the famous album “Trios” released on the ECM label. The moist lyrical melody typical of ECM resonates with the heart, making for an orthodox performance. The setlist for the day was also filled with interesting songs for fans, and they are not to be missed. Carla Bley’s piano, of course, and Andy Shapard’s saxophone are very comfortable, and you can enjoy the maturity that you can’t get on the studio version. This is a wonderful stage performance that I would like as many jazz fans as possible to hear.
