Description
From the North American tour accompanying the release of “ONE OF A KIND” under the name of Bruford in 1979, an early show in Toronto, Canada on July 25th, recorded almost completely from the high-quality audience master that could be considered A-rank at the time. First of all, Holdsworth had already left the band about two months earlier on the Euro tour, and John Clark joined. And it seems that this four-piece ensemble was finally established on this US tour, and the set is well-balanced with the numbers from the previous album “FEEL SO GOOD”, and the relaxed performance unique to small halls is impressive. Still, the 12-minute arrangement starts with a tense SE, and the moody Fainting In Coils includes Bill’s solo Back To The Beginning, which is a wonderful arrangement. From the highlight Beelzebub to the UK-famous The Sahara Of Snow, the improvisation is nearly twice as long as the album version. In particular, in the first half of Part 1, Jeff and Dave also interplay with each other, as if responding to Bill’s superb drumming. And check out the ending of Part 2 in the second half. The sound quality is definitely one of the best among the audience sources of this US tour, as it was recorded directly from the original master owned by Taper, which was recently unearthed. 01.
