Bruce Springsteen/NJ,USA 8.5.1984

The first day of the ten performances at the Brendan Byrne Arena in Bruce’s hometown of New Jersey during the first half of the “Born In The U.S.A.” tour, which was a worldwide hit, is recorded in a superb stereo line recording. Unfortunately, this recording is an incomplete version of only the middle part of the show, but the original source is a reference cassette copy that was extracted and roughly mixed for Bruce’s consideration of including it in “Live 1975-85” (the recording on the 6th the following day was actually used). This was previously released under the title “King Of The Road”, but earlier this year, a new transfer of the original cassette by JEMS was released. This is the version that was recorded. It is very unfortunate that only one-third of the actual live performance is recorded, but this is a high-grade item that JEMS recorded with a natural sound and perfectly adjusted some of the pitch errors to make it very easy to listen to.
