This is Brad Mehldau’s latest live recording. It features a trio performance, but with a different lineup than when they first came to Japan, a trio familiar to many in Europe. Although it’s an audience recording, the performance is beautifully captured and further refined through remastering. Because the audience cheers and other sounds between songs were somewhat distracting, most of the cuts were edited out. While this makes it difficult to capture Mehldau’s speeches or the atmosphere of the performance, the recording offers a well-balanced and enjoyable experience, just like a well-organized official live album.
