Last year, Mehldau debuted his new solo work “14 Fantaisies for Piano” in London and was acclaimed by jazz fans around the world. This album contains a recording of his performance at Big Airs Jazz in Knoxville, Tennessee in March 2024, recorded by a fan in the venue. This is his latest live performance, which also includes covers of Elliott Smith, Beck, and others. As a bonus, it also includes Coltrane’s “Straight Street” with Christian McBride the next day.
