Thank you for waiting! Finally, the BON JOVI version of “SUPER ROCK ’84” is here!! We have been reprinting “SUPER ROCK ’84” from WHITESNAKE, MSG, SCORPIONS and laser discs, and we are wondering, “When will BON JOVI be released?” The question was asked over and over again. However, at that time, only “Get Ready” and “Runaway”, which were included in the compilation edition, were made into laser discs. I couldn’t find a master suitable for making it into DVD. However, everything changed when I recently met a collector who provided me with a Y&T VHS in amazing condition. He also had BON JOVI in his collection! Y&T was also in a state of preservation that cannot be explained by simply saying “like new,” but this time’s BON JOVI is even more amazing. I was surprised to see a shiny cassette that made me think, “Maybe it has been polished every day for 30 years!?” But when I played it back, the images that came out were so beautiful! It is a stunning visual beauty that is on par with laser discs. In this collector’s collection, some items had noise or discoloration in the corners of the screen, but this work has none of that, and the colors and outlines are extremely vivid and look like they were shot digitally. According to the specs, the horizontal resolution is supposed to be lower than that of a laser disc…but…it doesn’t really seem that way. If I didn’t have the actual VHS in front of me, I would have thought, “What, they also released laser discs?” The official side is reluctant to reproduce the early footage, but even if they try to reproduce it, I wonder if they can find a master in better condition than this… Of course, in order to bring out 100% of the visual beauty and transfer it to DVD, we commissioned the same overseas manufacturer that produced the laser disc reprint series to digitize it with precision. The beauty of the visuals brings back the liveliness of BON JOVI’s lively stage performance on their first visit to Japan! The average age of the band was 26.2 years old, and John was 22 years old at this time. They are as young as new employees who have just graduated from university. Moreover, he is in the middle of feeling success for the first time in the world, and he is not at all excited. I run, I climb, I throw my arms up so hard I think my shoulders are going to fall off. There’s not a single blemish on my face. John thanked his Japanese fans over and over again and proudly held up the katakana “Bo ‘So’ Jovi” flag. In an interview scene, he says, “I’m more excited than everyone else,” but you can tell without me having to say it (lol). After that, no matter how big they become, they continue to make Japan a “special country,” and the super clear video clearly shows how the joy is imprinted on their souls. However, unfortunately, like other bands, it is not a full set recording. “Come Back,” “Roulette,” and “Shot Through the Heart” were cut, but this is the entire solo release, which is only a little over 25 minutes long. Therefore, we have also included the PV collection “BREAKOUT” as a bonus. “In And Out Of Love” also proudly includes the “SUPER ROCK ’84” scene. This is a genuine reprint from the original laser disc. It is the same world-class quality as the usual laser disc reprint series, but you will see that the main live video is not inferior even if you continue to watch it. Normally, I would talk about the performance and the setlist, but those things have nothing to do with this work. This young figure, the figure who is happy with his whole body, the figure who sings and speaks with all his heart. Witnessing this moving figure in the highest possible quality is life. A masterpiece video that permanently encapsulates the innocent real face that disappeared as it grew in size. Please take a look at this piece where you can always encounter this youthful brilliance anytime and forever.
