Description
“January 19, 2003: Yokohama Arena Performance”. This is the only arena performance announced as an additional performance of the 5 major dome tour. This show is a special performance that has never been seen before in the history of BON JOVI. In fact, it was the first full acoustic show in their history. Moreover, it was a special show that even introduced a 12-person orchestra. The pattern was recorded and broadcast all over the world, and it was supposed to be released as an official DVD… However, on this day, the goddess of rock made a freakish move. It was a big blunder at a show that the whole world was paying attention to. As a result, the planned official release was also canceled, and it became a “one-of-a-kind show” in a completely different sense. This work, which conveys such a big blunder show, also has the best sound. The master, which was directly handed over from a master who has been releasing masterpieces and masterpieces in the Kanto region, was directly made into a CD, and it was definitely an audience recording. However, the intense, clear and direct sound should be called “like a sound board”… no, on the contrary, it is “like an official”. In addition to the neat acoustic sound, the atmosphere of the historic show does not allow for any unnecessary noise, and the gently resonating sound is captured crystal clear. In the end, the official live album was not realized, but this is a super-fine product that can be a substitute for the official one. The goddess of rock turned her back on BON JOVI, but the goddess of recording smiled at the audience… it’s a miraculous sound that can only be thought of as such. The big blunder show depicted with that clear sound is… a storm of redoing. At the beginning, a certain music critic is informed of the significance of the historic show and the release plan, and that some songs may be redone for the work. Perhaps at this point the audience was thinking, “It’s inevitable that one or two songs will be made into a good work.” However, when the lid was opened, eight songs were repeated: “Livin’ On A Prayer,” “Everyday,” “The Joker (Steve Miller’s cover),” “Misunderstood,” “Always,” “Joey,” “The Distance,” and “Runaway.” Especially “Misunderstood” was repeated five times! The acoustic was already so dreary, and the show couldn’t get any more exciting… I don’t know because John didn’t say it, but there were probably various reasons for the redo. Sometimes he didn’t like the tempo, and sometimes it didn’t feel right. And John, who is the most important, was not in good shape… For example, he clearly couldn’t hit the high notes in “Always”. He was constantly blowing his nose between songs. Such a blunder show must have been tough… but it was surprisingly moving. In the fresh acoustic sound, the entanglement between John and Richie is depicted more clearly than usual. They have always written great songs that touch the heart… It reminds us of such a simple fact. And the fans who support John, who fight against his bad throat, are wonderful. If they were redone so many times, it’s only natural that there would be some booing, but there was none at all, and even the second and third times of the same song, the applause rose up just like the first time. On the contrary, the cheers of “Ganbatte!” even flew…. In the second “The Distance”, John exclaimed “Oh, Japanese clap!!” in response to the perfectly synchronized clapping, and after the replay of “Runaway”, the entire venue shouted the names of the members in unison. Just how kind and how much do Japanese people love BON JOVI? Of course, John also fights with his voice not coming out in order to deliver his full energy to such Japanese fans. To be honest, it’s a bit painful, but that’s why the show is so touching to see the depth of the feelings of the fans and BON JOVI. This acoustic show was planned because they care about Japan. Unfortunately, it was not officially recorded, but the scene was full of “feelings that only Japan can have”. It was a big blunder, a completely useless show, but it was touching. The goddess of rock played a mean and stylish prank on us. This is a one-of-a-kind scene captured with official audience sound.
