Description

This is a recording of a live performance in New Jersey on June 24th from the 1988 US tour, which marked the beginning of Dylan’s life work, the Never Ending Tour, recorded on a soundboard from FM On-Air Master. This is the first day of a two-day concert, and although it is not complete because it is a broadcast recording, it is a valuable live recording now that the simple four-piece band consisting of guitar, bass, and drums is based on the tight sound led by G.E. Smith, and also features Bob’s own guitar. And from the light-hearted opening of “Subterranean Homesick Blues” to familiar representative numbers and rare traditional covers, the performance and set unique to this period are a must-see. 01. Subterranean Homesick Blues / 02. It’s All Over Now, Baby Blue / 03. Masters Of War / 04. Simple Twist Of Fate / 05. Driftin’ Too Far From Shore / 06. You’re A Big Girl Now / 07. Lakes Of Pontchartrain (trad.) / 08. Boots Of Spanish Leather / 09. A Hard Rain’s A-Gonna Silvio Fall / 10. (Bob Dylan & Robert Hunter) / 11. I Shall Be Released / 12. Like A Rolling Stone / 13. The Times They Are A-Changin’ / 14. Maggie’s Farm [Live at The Garden State Performing Arts Center, Holmdel, NJ, USA June 24th 1988 : soundboard recording]
