Description

Popular titles that were previously released are now available with a new look. This is a compilation album with an unusual concept for a collector’s item, focusing mainly on the brilliant masterpiece “Like a Rolling Stone” in rock history, and recording the journey of Bob Dylan and Mike Bloomfield. This is a music documentary that lets you reminisce about the journey. First of all, you can follow the sessions until the song is completed, from the alternate version, which was originally a three-time signature, to the rough mix of the final form. Next is the live track, which features the first live performance by Dylan and Bloomfield, and the last live performance. At the Newport Folk Festival, where this song was performed for the first time, Dylan, who reigned as a folk god at the time, created a whirlwind of praise and disapproval for his intense electric rock performance backed by the Butterfield Blues Band. The historical moment that took place is recorded in a more powerful sound quality than the official DVD. And the reunion and final performance of this song’s original tag team, Dylan + Bloomfield, is recorded with sound board level sound quality. In addition to “Like a Rolling Stone,” there are other tracks in which Bloomfield’s guitar explodes with Dylan’s backing, which should satisfy Bloomfield fans. This is because the items released by “Seymour Records” were items under the name of Mike Bloomfield, not Dylan. What has changed from the Seymour version in this reorganization is that an alternate version of “Like a Rolling Stone” has been added and the track order has been revised. And in the Seymour version, the rough mix of the monumental album “Highway 61” included in “Like a Rolling Stone”, which was a bonus CDR limited to the first edition, was pressed as disc 2, so it was included on disc 1. The rough mix of “Tombstone Blues” was deleted. Of course, every track is remastered and the sound quality is upgraded. If you listen to Disc 2 after listening to Disc 1, “Highway 61 Remembered” will also sound different. All sound sources are different from the official one, and there are some rough cuts and noise, but this is the true value of a collector’s item. A real documentary that approaches the lives of musicians.
