The time has come once again! Bob Dylan 1984 tour highlights! Introducing the multi-track soundboard of the Wembley performance on July 7th, a part of which was used in the official edition “REAL LIVE”! Miraculous complete recording! A masterpiece that can be called the greatest excavation of Dylan this century! The backing band is Mick Taylor and Ian McLagan! Special guests appearing in the encore section in the second half include Santana, Eric Clapton, Chrissie Hynde, and Van Morrison! It’s an amazing event to be able to listen to such a special live with perfect sound quality! Of the 1984 tour during which Bob Dylan’s official live album “REAL LIVE” was recorded, it can be said that the highlight was the concert at Wembley Stadium in London on July 7th. Probably. Why? Dylan’s set was a great stage full of representative songs, and he had two encores! What’s more, the two encores were attended by Carlos Santana, Eric Clapton, Van Morrison, and Chrissie Hynde, all big-name musicians who respect Dylan. There are two types of audience sources for the complete recording of this day, and in the entire stage captured there, you can feel the spirit of Dylan, who brought out a more straight rock color. However, when it came to the encore with the participation of special guests, the sounds of the instruments were so intermingled that it was difficult to distinguish which play belonged to whom. Avid Dylan mania was aware that this day was officially recorded because the take of this day was recorded in “REAL LIVE”. This time, the multi-track soundboard master has finally been discovered! I want you to listen to it first. Each instrument, the prominence of Dylan’s vocals, and the clarity of each guest’s play during the encore, which could not be experienced with audience source. This is the power of multi-track soundboard recording. For rock fans, this encore alone is worth listening to! (For some reason, the audience sound source was a 3-disc set, but don’t worry, this work is completely recorded on 2 CDs with no cuts, covering the entire disc recording time.) There are many interesting episodes. Eric Clapton, who until just before this day had fully supported Pink Floyd’s Roger Waters’ solo tour, only came to see Dylan on stage. While watching the stage with the staff from the sidelines, he met Dylan’s eyes and was called to the stage. Clapton borrowed a Strat with a rosewood neck that was thought to belong to Dylan (he hadn’t brought his own guitar as he was just there to see the show) and suddenly performed a wonderful solo, but Senor I didn’t know that song at all. For Clapton, Dylan turned his back to the audience and directly conveyed the chord development. This scene is well placed before the song. In this short lecture, Clapton grasped the development of the song, interjected the sense with obbligato, and in the middle decided on a perfect solo that sounded like a guitarist in a backing band. (Incidentally, the guitarist in the backing band at this time was Mick Taylor, formerly of the Rolling Stones.) Chrissie Hynde (leader of the Pretenders) would liven up Dylan and add a chorus, but Clapton didn’t know what she was doing. She didn’t know who she was, but always thought she was a Dylan fan. Clapton later confessed that Hind was singing when he suddenly started backing away, which made him feel nervous because he almost hit the neck of his guitar. Encore full of happenings. When this happens, it feels like Dylan is singing just with momentum. Anyway, it’s interesting. A fun stage. This is “REAL LIVE”! I hope you enjoy the multi-track soundboard master that saw the light of day for the first time! The DVD is a very realistic “documentary film” that was shot by MTV staff even though permission was not granted to film the live performance. This is a valuable video that conveys the realistic atmosphere of the stage that day. CD1 01. Highway 61 Revisited 02. Jokerman 03. All along the watchtower 04. Just like a woman 05. Maggies Farm 06.
