In 1975, in preparation for the 200th anniversary of the founding of the country the following year, Daylan gathered together his former friends and held a tour titled “Rolling Thunder Revue” in the fall of 1975 and spring of 1976. “Hard Rain” is a collection of live performances from this spring tour in 1976. This live performance was also broadcast on TV, and contains more songs than this album, so it is expected that the video will be made into a software version. In addition, the movie “Rinaldo & Clara”, which was filmed around the same time, and the writings of Sam Shepard can be said to be important materials for this tour. As you know, the 1975 fall tour has been announced in recent years as “Bootleg Series Volume 5” (this liner notes are a must-read!). By the way, the US original version of this work is also famous as a work that has received high praise from analog enthusiasts as a so-called “roaring” version with a harsh sound. The result is a hard sound that belies the anecdote that it was recorded in the rain. This present item is a direct reproduction of the popular “Hard Rain” from the rare white promo edition, which is said to have even higher sound quality than the regular edition.
